I was in complete and utter shock. Did Jack really just ask me to marry him? I mean, of course I am going to say yes, I have wanted to marry this man since the day I met him at Zeke’s party, eight whole years ago. But, I never thought Jack would ever want to get married. I just had one question I needed to ask before I gave my answer.

“Will you promise to not fuck me over like Andy?” I asked quietly.

“I promise with all my heart Alex. You are the love of my life. I want to spend every waking minute with you and our kids. So what do ya say? Will you take this ring and promise to become my husband in the near future?” He continued my soft tone. I nodded my head slowly, as I felt a smile tug on my lips.

“Yes. Yes I’ll marry you, Jack.” In the instant, his little tiny grin he had, turned into the most beautiful, bright smile I have ever seen. He took my hand in his and placed the ring on my ring finger. It was honestly the most beautiful ring I have ever seen. The diamond was small, but I could care less. All I cared about was the fact that I would be able to marry someone who I am hopelessly in love with. Someone I want to spend the rest of my life with.

Jack put his arms around me and pulled me over to him as he laid down back down on the blanket. I was now completely laying on top of him, and I couldn’t ask for a better date night in my life. Everything was fine in the world. Our world. The only thing that might make this moment better, was if the kids were here to share it with us, but this was a date, which means they had to stay home.

Speaking of the kids, I was missing them a lot right now. But, I can deal with it. They have stayed at Rain and Cass’ house multiply times, longer than how long we will be out here. I was broken from my thoughts of our children as Jack started playing with my hair and spoke.

“So, fiancee, would you like to stay here, or would you like to go get some dinner?”

“I can be anywhere. Just as long as I’m with you.” I looked up into his dark brown, chocolate eyes.

“You are so fucking cheesy.” He laughed.

“Wow, way to ruin the moment, asshole.” I laughed as well. “But, yes, food does sound good. Only if we can stop and get some ice cream for everyone after this wonderful date is over.”

“You just love to spoil our kids, don’t you?” He chuckled.

“Well, we do have another kid to spoil shitless. Haha, come on you big goof.” I said with a smile as I got up off of him and held my hand out to him. He smiled back up at me and took my hand. Once he was up off the ground, he placed a small kiss on my lips and then bent down to grab the blanket we were laying on. We walked back to the car and I got in the passenger seat as he put the blanket in the backseat, soon getting in the driver’s seat.

“So, what type of food is my princess feeling?” He questioned me.

“I don’t really know. How about some Chinese?”

“Chinese it is.” We pulled out of the park parking lot and made our way to whatever Chinese restaurant Jack was taking me to.

The dinner was great, and we just pulled into our driveway. Jack was carrying the bag full of bowel with ice cream in them, for everyone who was staying with us. So, Jack, Becca, the kids, and I all had ice cream to eat in the next few minutes when we entered the house.

I unlocked the house door, since Jack’s hands were full. I moved to the side and smiled at the man behind me as I let him into the house first. He placed a kiss on my cheek and walked in, me following right behind him. We entered the living room, Jack first, and we both had huge smiles on our faces.

“We got ice cream!” Jack said as he held the bags up.

“Ice cream!” Noah and Joella said at the same time as they ran over to him. I laughed and looked over to my sister who was on the couch, smiling over to her daughter as she also ran for Jack.

“They weren’t too hard to manage? Were they?” I asked her. She met my eyes and smiled again.

“Nope. They were perfect little angels. So, how was the date?”

“The date was the best date in my life. Your brother is amazing.” Jack said as he passed out ice cream to the monsters around him.

“Oh yeah? How so?” She questioned.

“Well, by saying yes to his marriage proposal.” I smirked at her and held my hand up. Her eyes went wide and she jumped up off the couch and ran over to me, taking my hand in her’s and squealed.

“Oh my gosh! This is amazing! I’m so happy for you!” She said with excitement as we both jumped up and down.
