Alex

"Thanks for coming everyone! The kids love their gifts!" I said with a huge smile on my face as I shut the door. The birthday party for Joella and Noah had just ended, and to say they are spoiled, would be a understatement. Jack and I got them both tricycles, and much more little things. Without me knowing, Jack even went out and got a few things for little Lexi, which was really nice of him. I was broken from my thoughts as I felt something pull on my skinny jeans. I looked down and saw the face of my little girl. "Hey beautiful." I said as I bent down and picked her up. "Did you have a fun time?"

"Yes." She said with a huge smile on her face. I smiled back at her and placed a little kiss on her forehead. We then walked over into the living room and saw Becca and Jack, on the ground playing with Noah and Lexi.

"Go on sweetie. Go attack Daddy." I said as I put her down and pointed over to Jack, who was facing away from us. I watched as she ran over to him and jumped on his back, making him let out a grunting sound.

"Well hello to you too." He said with a chuckle as he looked behind him and grabbed her.

"Uncle Alex." I heard Lexi say. I looked over to her and walked to everyone on the ground, right next to her and sat down.

"What's up, Lexi?" I asked with a smile as she sat down on my lap.

"How come Mommy and me and just now seeing you?" She asked. When she said that, I looked up to Becca and gave her a sad look. I was really upset that my parents gave my twin sister for adoption. As if I didn't have enough problems with my parents already. They still don't like Jack, and never let him come over for the holidays, which is why we always go to his parents house. They also, never once, met their grandchildren. Every time I asked them, they would always make up some lame excuse as to why they can't.

"Let's same that answer for another time, Lexi. Come here." Becca spoke, holding her arms out for her daughter, who got off my lap and went over to her Mother.

"Hey Alex?" Jack asked from next to me. I turned to him and smiled as I saw he had both the kids in his lap, looking like they were about to fall asleep. All that partying must have tired them out. They take after their Father way too much. Little rock stars, they are.

"Yeah babe?" I asked as I looked up into his eyes.

"Would you like to go on a date tonight?" He smiled at me.

"Jack, we can't. If we did, we would have to bring the kids with us, you know that." I said with a apologetic look.

"Oh please! I can watch the kids! You guys go out and have fun, you guys deserve a break from being super Dad's." Becca said. I looked over at her and she had the world's biggest smile on her face.

"Are you sure you can handle them by yourself?" I asked unsure.

"Of course! Plus, it will give me a chance to get to know my niece and nephew more."

"Come on Alex! Please!" Jack said with his world famous puppy eyes, as he knows I could never turn him down when he does them.

"Fine. But only if Becca is sure she is okay with it." I said with a sigh. It's not like I don't like going on dates with Jack, I just hate not being around the kids. I always end up missing them too much.

"I'm sure. You guys go ahead and get ready." She replied with that same smile.
