Double Take.

Chapter Thirty - Two.

Alex

Two Months Later

Today Jack and I are meeting Steph at the hospital for her Doctors appointment. Today was finally the day that Jack and I were going to find out the gender of our soon-to-be-child. Jack and I have been betting on the gender. I wanted a little girl, and he wanted a little boy. To be honest, I think I will be happy with whatever one we get.
We moved out of the apartment complex and three weeks ago, and we now live in a small house just about ten minutes away from Rian and Cass' house. Speaking of Cass, when Jack and I told her about the baby, she was super excited. She even moved around her touring schedule so that she can be there for the birth of the little one, as well as Jack did. Jack's band mates a really supportive of our choice to raise the child together.

"Alright Lex, ready to go and find out the gender of our baby?" Jack asked as we got out of the car together and started to walk through the parking lot, hand-in-hand.

"Yep. But I still think it's going to be a girl." I said with a smirk.

"Yeah, you're wrong. It's a boy." He smirked back at me. We laughed and entered the hospital, walking straight to the back area, as Steph texted us the room number that the Doctor brought her back to. Once we reached the room, we entered and saw Steph laying on a table, and a Doctor having a wand to her tummy as he looked for the baby on the screen.

"Sorry we are late. I had to help one of my students." I said as we stood next to her side.

"Oh, don't worry about it. You guys are right on time." She said with a small smile.

"Ah, boys hello. I'm Doctor Mac. Which one of you is the Father?" The Doctor asked with a smile.

"I'm the biological Father. My boyfriend with be the adopted Father when the baby is born." Jack answered for us.

"Oh, are you not keeping the child?" Doctor Mac asked Steph. She simply stood her head no, and then he told us all to look at the screen. "It seems that they are doing just fine. Would you like to know the gender's now? Or let it be a surprise?"

"Wait, they? Gender's?" I asked.

"Yep. You guys are having twins." He answered. Jack and I both looked at him in shook. We were both ready to raise one child together, but were we really ready to raise two? I looked over to Jack, and he was already looking at me. I saw a small smile tug at his lips.

"Do you think we can raise two, Jack?" I asked him quietly.

"As long as you are by my side. We can do anything." He spoke into my ear as he placed a small kiss on my temple. He pulled away from me and smile. "Do you believe in us, babe?"

"Yes." I said quietly as I felt a smile tug onto my lips, which only made Jack's smile grow bigger. We both looked over to the Doctor and I spoke. "We would like to know the gender's now, please."

"Okay." He said with a smile as he moved the wand around on Steph's stomach again. "Congrats. You are having a boy and a girl." Steph had a smile on her face as she looked over to Jack and I. I turned to him, the same time her turned to me.

"I pick boy name, you pick girl name?" He asked with a smirk.

"Agreed." I said with a little giggle. He gave me a hug, as the Doctor left the room. Once the door was shut behind the Doctor, Jack placed a kiss onto my lips. "I love you."

"I love you, too." I said against his soft, plump lips. We pulled away from the kiss, and looked over to Steph. Jack went over and helped her off of the table.

"Okay. Well, I'll text you guys if anything happens. Congrats. I'll see you guys next month for the check up." She said as we all walked out of the room.

"Thanks Steph." I said.

"For what?" She asked confused.

"For letting Jack and I raise the babies." I replied.

"Yeah, if you got a abortion, I would most likely have cried myself to sleep since the day I found out." Jack ended with a small chuckle.

"Well, you know what they say. It takes two to tango. I'm just glad you are willing to raise them." She said as we walked out of the hospital and into the parking lot. "I'll see you boys next month. Bye." We waved goodbye to her and Jack gabbed my hand in his, and we walked over to his car. Once we were in the car, Jack started it up and we started our drive home.

"You know. I still don't like her. But I already love those babies." I commented as we drove.

"Agreed." Jack said with a chuckle.

Notes

My college is doing a bunch of activities that freshman are required to go to which is pretty nice. My best friends going to be three and half hours I think. I'm just really nervous cause I don't know anyone on campus.

No problem. And long distance friendships are hard but they can work. My best friend is four hours away when I'm at college but we talk a lot and hang out when we can. If the first night at college feels lonely and you don't feel like socializing, get some junk food and your favorite movie and let yourself get used to being somewhere new with some things that are familiar.

You are awesome, thank you. My 'rents aren't gonna let me visit on weekends but worst comes to worst I'm practically in a national forest with the beauty of nature surrounding me no matter where I go. I've calmed down a lot but tomorrow's gonna be bad because I say final goodbye's to all my friends which will be real hard.

Four hours isn't so bad. Just far enough that you feel like you have some freedom but not too far for weekend visits. Making friends on campus will help you settle in, but your online friends got your back too :)
