I was really surprised at how well Jack took the news. He sounded really shocked, but then again, he sounded kinda happy. He was going to be a Father. I was going to be a Father. Holy shit, I was going to be a Father. I need to call Rian.
I quickly grabbed my phone off the table and pulled up my best friend's contact. I pressed call and waited till he answered.

"Hey, Lex. Everything all good?" His voice came through.

"Everything's fine. Can you come over and talk for a little bit?" I asked.

"Sure. I'll be over in about twenty minutes."

"Alright. See you then." I said and hung up the phone. Was this even the right thing to do? It's not like the kid is mine.

Rian kept true to his word and knocked on the door to the apartment twenty minutes later. I answered it and moved to the side to let him in. Once he was in, I shut the door behind him and we went into the living room and sat on the couch together.

"Alright. I can tell somethings up, what's going on?" He asked me.

"I'm going to be a Father, Ri." I said looking at him. He gave me a confused look.

"Last time I checked, you were gay, with a boyfriend."

"I'm adopting the child."

"Why? Does Jack know?"

"The child belongs to Jack."

"What?" He looked beyond confused now.

"Steph is pregnant. She came here today to talk to Jack about it. He's on tour, as you know, so I talked to her. She's pregnant with his child. She doesn't want the kid, and she wanted to get an abortion, I told her no. I talked to Jack right before I called you. Him and I are going to sign the birth papers, and the child will be ours." I explained.

"Are you sure you want to do this Lex? I mean, you and Jack have only been back together for a month. You guys don't really have a stable relationship."

"I want to do this Ri. I know Jack wants to be in the kids life. I wasn't going to let her kill his child because she didn't want to raise it."

"Alright. If this is what you really want to do. I'll be by your side every step of the way." He said as he patted my back.

"You are the best friend anyone could ask for." I said with a huge smile as I brought him into a loving hug. "Thanks Ri."

"No problem Lex. Now let's play some video games. No more adult talk."

"But we are adults."

"Yeah, when it comes to video games. We're not."

"True."
