Jack

Alex just dropped the news that Zack wouldn't stop at anything to have me. I wasn't running from Zack because I was afraid. He was just unpredictable. I know how he got, I was a lot like him. I wasn't possessive, just territorial. I'd protect Alex, even if it'd cost me my life. I knew Zack wouldn't something that drastic but love is a crazy thing.

I pulled Alex into my lap again. I was afraid, probably more so than him, I'd just never admit it. I needed to call Austin, he'd be pissed that I called him at work but this was an emergency. I felt Alex shaking from my lap. I wrapped my arms around him in a tight embrace. I kissed his neck softly, my last attempt to calm him down.

He grabbed my hands which had lazily been wrapped around his stomach. I smiled at the simple gesture, it was an unspoken vow of trust. He knew that I was going to keep him safe. He trusted me and I loved him for that. I kissed his neck softly again.

"Call Austin, we need to talk about this now," Alex whispered.

I sighed, moving softly, removing my phone from my back pocket. I handed it to Alex for him to call Austin. There's nothing I was trying to hide from Alex on my phone. He snickered as he went to the keypad, typing in the number of his new friend.

"Next time you hand me your phone, make sure you exit out of your porn," Alex snickered.

"Oh...uh...sorry...I...um...uh...forgot," it sounded like a question.

My face was probably the reddest it had ever been. I was horny and I wanted attention so... I just wanted it. I thought I had closed the tab but apparently I hadn't. The phone was ringing, pulling me out of my thoughts. Alex had put it on speaker so it was easier.

"Jay, I'm at work, this better be fucking important," Austin said, irritated.

"Zack is on his way here, he wants to break us up. Can you help," I said quickly.

"Actually yeah, assuming you are fine with leaving Florida. If you are willing to go to Tennessee I have a friend there. I'll text you her address. You've never been a country boy Jack so Zack'll never expect it."

"Are you fine with Tennessee Alex?"

"As long as I'm with you," he whispered, pecking my lips.

"I'll text you her address then. Her name is Hayley, she's pretty cool."

"Thanks Aus, for everything."

The dial tone went off and Alex muted it, handing it back to me. He smiled softly which I wasn't expecting. He got off my lap and grabbed my hand. He led me up the stairs and smiled to me as he lead me to the room we shared. My phone went off, I assumed it was the text that Austin said he's send to me. Alex pulled his suitcase on the bed, starting to pack it.

"Are you okay with this Lex," I asked again.

"Jay, we go together or we don't go down at all. I will be fine as long as you are there. Please, believe me. We're going to go and do this together. I'll be fine, I promise," he smiled softly.

I smiled at him as I watched him pack the bag. He was starting to break out of his shell. I was proud of him, I half expected him to say forget it, I want to go back home. Sure, Tennessee was pretty close to Maryland so he wasn't too far from Rian or his family or anyone else he was close to. Was it risky going closer to were Zack currently was? Probably. I'd risk everything for Alex. He was worth everything.

My phone vibrated and I saw Zack's contact pop up. I didn't want him to know that we were onto him. I excused myself and answered the phone.

"Hey Zee," I said.

"Jack, we should be together. Dump the loser. I'll give you anything you want," he whispered.

"I'm happy Zee, please understand that."

"I need you Jay. I love you."

Notes

#LoveWins; the supreme court legalized same-sex marriage on the federal level for America today. This is super exciting and I've never been happier.

Alright, that aside, I know this isn't the longest chapter but it says everything it needs to and yeah, Alex is kind of opening up and it's awesome. I'm just trying to do something with the drama. Also, dat reference though.
