Chapter Twenty - One.

Alex’s POV

Jack and I had finished packing our bags at about five o’clock in the morning. Austin bought us our tickets to Tennessee, even though we told him we could pay for them. He still got them without us knowing. Austin called Hayley at about eight in the morning, and told her everything that was going down. She said that she had the day off of work, so she would pick Jack and I up at the airport. Speaking of the airport, that’s where Austin was taking us right now. Jack was in the front seat and I was in the backseat, talking to Rian on the phone.

“We will be fine Ri, the only people that know where we are going is Austin, his friend Hayley, and now you.” I spoke, trying to calm down my worrying best friend.

“Are you sure Jack will be able to protect you? Do you trust him? I have seen this Zack guy, he’s huge! He scares me! And I know if he scares me, he scares you.” Rian spoke quickly. I heard a girl in the back giggling.

“Rian, who is that giggling in the background?” I questioned.

“Oh, it’s Cass. She came for a surprise visit.” Rian, said with a more calm tone.

“Oh. Tell her I said hi.” I said.

“Alex said hi, Cass.”

“Hi Alex! Sorry I missed you! I really want to meet the best friend of my babe!” Cass giggled as I could tell that Rian held the phone up to her so she could speak.

“We will meet one day! Promise! Jack and I will only be about eleven hours from Baltimore, which is three hours closer than what Florida was.” I said with a laugh.

“Can’t wait!” Cass said, I could hear the smile on her lips. Rian told me that she was always smiling. Before, I said I don’t think Cass and I would ever become friends because I only talk to Rian. I guess after this whole thing with Jack, I can start opening up to more people. It’s like Jack is pulling me out of my small, closed off shell.

“Okay Alex, well, I guess I’ll let you go now. Call me when you get to Tennessee.” Rian spoke, breaking me out of my little thinking moment.

“Okay Ri, I promise.” I spoke.

“Okay, love ya, man.”

“Love ya too, Ri.” With those words we hung up. Jack looked back at me from his seat and gave me a smile. “What are you smiling at, loser?” I asked with a small giggle.

“The cutest fucking person in the world.” He said with a chuckle.

“Okay, no more cutesy shit in my car. We are here.” Austin spoke up, chuckling as well. We all opened our doors and got out of the car. Austin opened up the trunk of his car so Jack and I could get our bags. I grabbed out my rolling suitcase and bookbag, and Jack did the same. We all walked into the airport, and Jack laced his hand with mine, interlocking our fingers. I still felt a bit scared showing affection to another guy in public. I always feel as if someone is judging me. No, I know they are judging me. If by magic, Jack knew what I was thinking.

“If it makes you uncomfortable, I will let go of your hand.” He whispered in my ear. The truth is, it did make me feel a bit uncomfortable, but it also made me feel safe. I wasn’t going to let that feeling go. I shook my head and gave him a smile. He smiled back at me and we continued to walk, with Austin by our side as well. We arrived at the terminal and took a seat on the chairs for people who are waiting for their flights. The only thing bad about it was we had to say good-bye to Austin right now, because he had to go to work.

“Okay, well, you both have my numbers. If you need anything, don’t hesitate to call me.” Austin spoke.

“We really appreciate you helping us out, Aus.” Jack said. I nodded my head in agreement.

“It was fun having you guys around. Make sure you guys come visit me sometime.” Austin said with a smile.

“We will.” I spoke.

“Good, now both of you stand up and give me a hug so I can leave.” He said with a laugh. Both Jack and I laughed as we stood up and each gave Austin a hug. “Okay, well I’ll see you guys whenever. Bye.”

“Bye Aus.” I said.

“Later Austin.” Jack said. Jack and I both sat down and we waved bye one more time to Austin as he made his way back out of the airport. I have to admit, this airport was really cold. Like, so cold I was shivering. Jack must have noticed, as he took off his leather jacket and placed it on my shoulders. I gave him a smile and he smiled back, also putting an arm around my shoulders and pulling me so I was leaning into his side. There was a lot of people around us, but I didn’t care. If I was going to be with Jack, I have to accept the fact that I need to come out of my shell, and he is just the person to help me do that. I felt him place a kiss on my forehead, and I moved a bit closer to him. I looked around us and saw a few people looking at us with disgusted looks.

“Jack.” I whispered.

“Hmm?” He hummed in response.

“People are staring.” I kept my whispering tone.

“Want me to do something about it?” He asked, I knew he was smiling as he said that, even if I wasn’t looking at him.

“Yes.” I said. Because really, I did. I hated when people stared at me. I didn’t like being the center of attention, it always scared me.

“If I do something about it, more people might look. It involves yelling.” He said.

“Just get it over with.” I spoke as I hid my face in his shoulder. He let out a small chuckle before speaking.

“How would you fuckers like it if I stared at you? I’m going to tell you right now, my eyes burn at the sight of you pricks. So how about this, take a fucking picture, it lasts longer!” He shouted. I heard a few people huff in response and I let out a giggle. “Okay, no one is looking anymore.” I lifted my head up and looked around a little bit, seeing no eyes on us.

“Thank you.” I said looking back at him with a smile.

“You are most welcome.” He said returning my smile I moved forward and placed a small peck on his lips. “Mmm, I want another one.” I let out a giggle at his words. But, I did as he said and pecked his lips again. “And another.”

“No more.” I said with a laugh.

“I will get more when we get on the plane.” He said with a smirk. “By the way, I have always wanted to have sex in a bathroom on a plane.”

“Well, that is just going to have to keep being a dream of yours. It’s not happening.” I said, laughing again.

“Oh I know it won’t, can't take away something special to you, on a plane.” He said. When he said something special to me, I knew he was talking about my virginity. Which I was glad he was understanding when it came to sex. I love the fact he understands that I’m just not ready. I sent him a smile, to which he gladly returned.

“Flight 324 to Tennessee is now boarding.” The intercom said.

“That’s us.” Jack said. We both stood up and grabbed out bags that were next to us. I swung my bookbag strap over my shoulder and Jack did the same thing, and we both pulled the handles on the rolling suitcases. Jack laced our hands together again and we started walking. I noticed that a plane from Baltimore was just now letting out it’s passengers. I noticed someone get off, and it was someone I was hoping we wouldn’t run into.

“Jack.” I whispered.

“Yeah?” He asked softly. I pointed my finger over to where Zack was and Jack looked. His eyes went wide and we picked up our walking pace, so we were now basically running. We don’t believe Zack saw us, which is a good thing. We got through security pretty quickly. Once we were set to get on the plane, Jack handed our tickets to the woman and she checked them. She gave us a smile and handed them back to us as we walked into the tunnel together, still not being seen by Zack. We reached the stairs to the plane and we walked up them. Jack was walking in front of me, our hands still laced together, because let’s be real. It Jack wasn’t pulling me onto the plane, there was no way in hell I was getting on. I have never been on a plane before, and it scares me. Being so high in the air scares me. We made it to our seats, and we didn’t even notice that Austin bought us first class seats till we got on the plane. Jack and I sat in our seats and I was shaking really bad. Jack noticed and lifted up the armrest that divided us. He moved closer to me and put his arms around me, holding me close to him.

“Everything is going to be fine Lex, I promise.” He spoke softly as he rubbed circles on my back. I let out a breathe I didn’t even know I was holding in. The seats Jack and I were sitting in folded down into a bed, and we were hidden by little walls with a door that Jack closed after we were in our little area. Jack let go of me and stood up. Pressing the button on my chair, so it would fold down into a bed. He did the same thing with his chair, once the chairs were now beds, Jack pulled out two blankets and put them both over us. He pulled me into his chest and held me, and I admit, it was making my nervousness go away pretty quickly. I laid my head and hand on Jack’s chest and cuddled up to him, as he kept his arms around me. “Better?”

“Yes.” I said softly.

“Good. Try and get some sleep, we were both up all night. Love you, Lexy.” He replied, keeping a soft tone as well.

“Love you too, Jay.” I replied as I cuddled up a bit closer, if possible.

“Next stop, Tennessee.” Jack spoke. Then I passed out asleep.
