Twelve

Alex and I were unable to fall asleep due to the noises escaping Jack and Nyssa’s current bunk. So I took the opportunity to have a nice moment with Alex.
He was shirtless again tonight, dressed in his GK sweatshorts for bed. I was only in one of his black GK t-shirts and it hung off my small frame. I sat on his hips, straddling him. My hands rested on his chest, my fingers playing with his body hair. He played with my hair that I had resting on my shoulders in my natural waves.
“We’ve been able to hold ourselves together rather well these last couple days. I feel almost normal again,” I told him.
“I’m glad that you’re getting better, babe. I’m getting better too,” he replied, smiling warmly.
“But I’m worried about one thing though. What’s going to happen when this tour ends? I know you’ll have a week before going out to the UK for Slam Dunk and then you do a festival stint under Green Day. But I don’t know if I can go with you. I know I’ll have to go back to Orlando. But I don’t want to leave you,” I confessed my fears of what will happen when the tour ends and Nyssa and I have to go home.
“I’ve been thinking about it too, Bonnie. I’m hoping Jack will talk to Nyssa about it soon too. I would love to have you live in Baltimore with me. I want to take you with me around the world and show you the cool things I get to see on tour. I want to be a soppy romantic and take you to Paris and maybe Italy too. But my main concern lately has been our anxiety. So I haven’t given it a lot of thought. We will figure everything out, I promise,” he smiled before he pulled me down for a kiss.
That’s when my phone rang. The number was the last one I wanted to see.
“What do you want, Jason? I’m with my boyfriend,” I snapped at him.
“Last time I check you were my girlfriend, Bonnie,” he tried to correct me.
“I dumped your ass while I was home,” I told him.
“You’re not home? Then where are you,” he asked. Alex took my phone from me.
“It’s none of your business as to where she is. All you need to know is that she’s happy with me,” Alex snapped at Jason before hanging up on him and giving me back my phone.
“Thank you. He’s a tool that was a waste of time for me,” I told him.
“Are you alright, though,” he asked, he had to have noticed that I was tearing up.
“Yeah I’m fine. To tell you the truth, Jason abused me mentally and emotionally. He made me get as close as possible to have an attack before backing over and pulling me back in. Then he cheated on me multiple times. He hit me once and I hit him back, dumping his ass,” I told him.
“No guy should hit a girl. Ever. I would never dream to do that to girl. Even Lisa and she drove me insane and I wanted to knock her lights out at times. I was raised to be a gentleman by my parents, and I plan on maintaining that reputation,” Alex replied.
“Can we try to get some sleep, I need it really bad right now and there is no way we’ll be able to block them out,” I rolled off Alex and rested my head on Alex’s chest by his right shoulder.
“It’s karma since we got it on last night,” Alex yawned as he wrapped his arms around and kissed me softly, “Goodnight, Bonnie. I love you.”
“Goodnight, Alex. I love you too,” I kissed him back before falling asleep peacefully in his arms.

I woke up the next morning and found that Bonnie was gone. I ruffled my hair and left our bunk. I stumbled into the front lounge and found Bonnie curled up on the couch with her phone pressed to her ear.
“Oh you’re in Chicago with Dad, Mom,” Bonnie sounded shocked.
“Oh I’m not in Florida. I’m actually on the road to Chicago with my boyfriend,” she must be getting grilled by her mom on the phone.
“I we just started seeing each other a few weeks ago. He travels the country as a part of his job,” she replied to her mom.
“You won’t like his job choice. He’s in a band,” she replied.
“His name is Alex and he sings and plays guitar in All Time Low,” she explained who I was to her mom.
“You want to meet him,” she questioned.
“You want us to meet up with you in Chicago,” she was skeptical.
“I’ll run it by him and text you with our response. I’ll talk to you later Mom,” she hung before her mom could say anymore and rubbed her temples out of frustration.
“What’s going on, Bonnie,” I asked as I took a seat next her.
“My parents want to meet you. They’re in Chicago due to my mom’s work. They want to take us to lunch,” she explained.
“I want to meet them. But only if you want to,” I told her.
“I’ll tell them we’re interested in having lunch. Be warned my dad may try to do something harsh to you being I’m his only daughter and he likes to make it seem like he cares about me,” she warned me.
“I’ve dealt with worse dads,” I replied.
“You haven’t met mine. He’s kind of like me but not so much as a scared anxious person. He has a short fuse temper,” I told him.
“It’ll be fine, Bonnie. I love you and I know that your parents will grow to like me and will be happy to know I’m making you happy. Sure they ignored you as a kid, but they’ll still love you,” I kissed her as I brushed some of her hair out of her face.
“Just be prepare for a lot of questions and try to stay like you have been these last few days. The last things we need is to have us both having anxiety attacks in my parents’ presence,” she sighed as I lifted her into my lap.
“I promise everything will be just fine,” I reassured her as I kissed her forehead.
