Anything But Ordinary

I need your love like a boy needs his mother's side.

After dinner, everyone crowded into the living room for a movie and popcorn. This was Jack's way of lifting the mood, and it was definitely working.

Alex and I cuddled up together on one end of the couch while Jack put the movie in. Sarah placed herself on Alex's right on the other end, and she waited for Jack to finish setting everything up. Rian and Cass settled together on the loveseat, and Zack made his way to the recliner, a cold beer in his hand.

Just looking at his beer made me shudder. There was no way I'd be drinking again, at least for a while. Alex pressed a kiss against my temple as Jack took a seat, and he started the movie.

The popcorn was passed around until the bowl was empty. The movie ended not much later, and I yawned when the lights were turned back on.

"I think we're going to head out," Alex said. I nodded, and everyone nodded along with me.

"Let me just go to the bathroom and we'll be off," I said. Alex nodded and I headed down the hallway to the bathroom. I closed the door gently behind me, and I leaned on the counter, staring at myself in the mirror. I had bags under my eyes, and the thick black makeup that lined my eyes didn't do them any justice. I sighed and washed my hands for a solid two minutes before leaving.

I met Alex in the living room, and he handed me my bag. I took it from him with a quiet 'thank you,' and I gave everyone hugs before allowing Alex to grab my hand and lead me out.

We walked down to the car in relative silence, and Alex unlocked it. We both got in, and I slumped against the seat with a sigh as Alex started the car.

"What's wrong?" Alex asked as he pulled away from the curb. I shrugged, though he wasn't looking at me.

"I don't know. I don't want to freak you out or anything... but I kind of miss being pregnant," I said. Alex inhaled sharply, and he accelerated a little bit once hearing my words. However, he slowed down and relaxed.

"Claire..." he sighed, "are you sure?"

"Yes, Alex. I just thought I'd tell you. I'm not saying we should try for a baby, I mean... we haven't been together for very long. Only a few months. But what I am saying is that I wish that things didn't go the way they did," I said. Alex pulled up to a red light, and he looked over at me.

"Do you want to try for a baby?" He asked. I didn't know how to answer. How do you answer a question like that? It was either yes or no. There's no maybe.

"I don't know. I mean, we haven't even slept together yet. Is that a risk you want to take? I mean, I'm only twenty-two. I could wait a couple of years," I said. The light turned green, and Alex released the brake. A few drops of rain fell on the windshield.

"I'd do anything with you, Claire. I'd take that risk for you any day. And I'm almost twenty-five! I don't want to be thirty by the time our first child comes," Alex said. I blushed in the dark, glad that he couldn't see it.

"Then it's settled. Let's have a baby," I said, and the rain steadied and turned into snow within ten minutes. I smiled.

We returned home, and Alex escorted me up to the front door through the snow. He fumbled with the lock because his fingers were frozen, but eventually he pushed the door open and ushered me inside. Sebastian and Peyton were barking loudly from out back, and Alex rushed to let them in, and in seconds there were two happy dogs wagging their tales at my feet. Alex whistled for them, and they went running to him. I chuckled and headed down the hall toward the bedroom, where I removed Alex's jacket that I was wearing, and I set my bag down on the floor beside the dresser. I hung Alex's jacket back up, and I sat down on the bed, hearing his footsteps marching down the hall minutes later.

Alex entered with a smile, and he closed the door behind him.

"Dogs are fed and put down for the night, so the hard work is done," he said with a laugh. I smiled as he stripped down to his boxers. He tossed his clothes in the hamper, and he approached me, kissing me softly.

Alex pushed me back so I was flat on my back, and he hovered over me.

"How many times have you had consensual sex?" He asked me. I thought for a second.

"Two or three times," I said. Alex smiled and kissed me. He slipped his hands under my dress, and he broke the kiss to pull it over my head. He tossed it on the floor, and kissed me again.

"W-Wait," I said, pushing on his chest.

"What? Do you want me to stop?" Alex asked. I shook my head.

"Just nervous, is all," I said. Alex raised and eyebrow and sat up, pulling me up with him.

"Are you sure that's all it is? It seemed like you tensed up a bit," Alex said. I sighed.

"Because I did. I don't know...it's been a long time.. that I remember, but that's beside the point. What if I get pregnant-"

"Wasn't that the goal?"

"Let me finish. What if I get pregnant and you decide you don't want to be with me anymore? It's still so soon," I said. Alex smiled softly.

"If you want to wait, that's fine. I'm not going to be mad at you for that," he said. I shook my head.

"I don't want to wait!" I said.

"Sending me mixed signals here, babe. You're saying it's too soon for us to be trying to conceive, but you're also saying you don't want to wait. It doesn't make any sense," Alex said.

"Ugh! Just fuck me!" I exclaimed, and I attacked Alex in kisses.

~~

I woke up the next morning feeling better than I'd ever felt. Alex had definitely performed up to par last night, and he'd left me feeling weak and tired. But now, I was full of energy. I rolled out of bed into the cool air of the room, and I stretched with what would have been a very contagious yawn if Alex were awake. I pulled on my underwear from last night and I left the room. I headed to the kitchen, where I started making Alex some breakfast. Eggs, bacon, and sausage.

It was ready by the time he showed his face, and he grinned tiredly at me.

"Wow, Claire. This looks and smells frickin' good," he said.

"Glad you think so. Eat," I said, planting a sweet kiss on his lips. I sat down beside him, and I dug into my own breakfast, scarfing it almost as fast as Alex.

"I'll clean this up for you," Alex said. I thanked him and decided on a nice hot shower.

Didn't know how to continue, so. :D Enjoy!

Aw, figuring out baby names. Hmm... I'm pretty tired right now so I can't really give any good suggestions, lol, but I'm sure you'll come up with something. Or if you really do need suggestions, let me know; I'll try and give some when I'm less tired maybe, lol.
But great job with the update! :)
