All I Ever Wanted

"Lizzy! I want you to go shopping with me!" Tori yelled. I sighed and got up, knowing that I wasn't getting out of this. I took a shower, and I met her in the living room when I was completely ready. I followed her outside after grabbing my purse, and we got in her car.

"Where are we going?" I asked as I buckled myself in. I slumped back against the seat as she pulled out of the driveway.

"The mall." I groaned. Anywhere but the mall.

"Lizzy! Look at this dress! It's so freaking cute!" Tori exclaimed as she shoved a dress in my face.

"Yeah. It's adorable," I muttered. Tori groaned and tucked the dress under her arm.

"Lizzy," she complained. I looked up at her and raised my eyebrows.

"Quit moping about Alex. It's over and done with," she said. I glared at her.

"How would you feel, Tori, if Dan did the same thing to you?" I asked. I kept my voice down, for there was a woman looking through racks of clothing about two feet away.

"Obviously I'd be upset, but fuck Lizzy, it's been three weeks. Alex is engaged. You can't do anything about it," she said. I saw the woman stop what she was doing, and she turned around and walked over to us.

"Alex Gaskarth?" She asked. I looked up at her and nodded.

"Yeah. We kind of had a thing, but then he told me he was going to propose to his girlfriend that he'd gotten back together with and it totally crushed me," I said, picking at my fingernails. She stayed quiet, and I looked up at her just in time.

"Lisa baby! Look what I fo- oh," Alex stood next to his fianceé and looked down at me. Now this was awkward.

"Do you have anything to say, Alex?" Lisa asked as she crossed her arms.

"No," he said.

"I want you to apologize to her. Do it," she demanded. Alex sighed, but he didn't say anything.

"Lisa," Alex complained. She shook her head.

"Goodbye, Alex," she said as she pulled her engagement ring off. She handed it to him, and she walked away.

"This is your fault!" Alex told me. I scoffed.

"To hell it isn't!" I said. I glared at him.
"I'm gonna give you two some space," Tori said, and she slowly backed away.

"Yes it is!"

"I can't believe you, Alex. You tell me all these things and then-"

"I'm well aware, Elizabeth. I was scared," Alex confessed.

"You were scared? Of what!? Of me?" I asked.

"No! I was scared of falling in love again! I've been with Lisa on and off since high school. Falling for you was really fucking scary," Alex said. I opened my mouth to say something, but nothing came out. I couldn't believe it.

"Alex.. um," I muttered. I looked down and shook my head.

"You don't have to say anything. Just... have a good day," Alex said, and he started to walk away. He got about ten feet away before I ran over to him and grabbed his arm.

"Lizzy-?"

"Just kiss me already, Gaskarth," I said with exasperation, and Alex smiled before leaning down and kissing me. I wrapped my arms around his neck as he gripped my hips.

"Just get married already!" Tori exclaimed. Alex pulled away from me, and we both looked at her.

"You know... I do have a ring..." Alex said suggestively.

"Alex, I'm not getting married today. Wait a few years and we'll see," I said. Alex chuckled before pecking my lips.

"Well, I'm leaving," Tori said. She walked off, and I looked up at Alex. I laced my fingers through his.

"We're starting over. I thought I was ready for something more with Lisa, but with you, I could wait as long as forever," Alex said. I laughed.

"You're a moron," I said.

We, hadn't made things official, but I was staying at Alex's a lot. We'd cuddle, have sex, but nothing was official. Yet.

"Last night was amazing," I said, looking over at Alex.

"You know it," Alex said. I rolled over and into his arms, pressing a kiss against his cheek before standing up and stretching. I could feel Alex's eyes roam my body as I did so, and I winked at him.

"Shower?" I asked. He nodded and rolled out of bed, and I followed him to the bathroom.

"Hey.. I have to go to a party today. Want to be my date?" Alex asked. I smiled.

"Can we make this thing official first?" I asked. Alex smiled.

"Would you be my girlfriend, Lizzy?" Alex asked.

"Of course, Alex," I said. He smiled and kissed me, and he started the shower.
