Shameless

Yesterday was fantastic.
I thought it would be just a lousy day like every other day, but yesterday was pretty fucking eventful!
So I'm just standing there at the register, when this 10-star hottie walks in!
And fuck, I was wearing those dorky ass glasses! I really need my new contacts to get here soon…
But anyway, he was last in line for the morning, so I got more time to flirt with him. And when I tell you he was hot, I mean he was hot.
He had this sexy blonde hair, that I'm pretty sure was dyed. And he had these round, AMAZING brown eyes…and his smile. His smile was just something else.
When I gave him my number, he started blushing; and that was enough to make me weak at the knees. That doesn't happen often.
And it's not everyday that someone like that just walks into your life!
Which is why I'm super excited. He said he's gonna come back to the café again soon, and heck, maybe he'll even text me!
I definitely hope to hear from him again.
I've decided to share my excitement with my friend, Zack.
Zack and I go way back. In high school, we used to skip class to go out for a smoke, or sometimes to even get high. Nowadays, we just meet up whenever I'm feeling reflective or excited, or both. Just like right now, actually.

I drove off to Zack’s place, and we were soon sitting on his back porch, chatting it up as cigarette smoke filled the air.
“So, what did you say this guy’s name was?” Zack asked, after taking another drag of his cigarette.
“Alex. His name is Alex.” I smiled as I said his name; loving the memory of the beautiful man who came to the coffee shop.
“So, do you think he's actually gonna call you? Or text you or whatever?”
I shrugged in response.
“I dunno. I hope he does..I mean, fuck I hope he does. This wasn't just anybody, Zack! I'm telling you!” I assured him; putting the deathstick up to my mouth.
“Well he sounds pretty ordinary, from what you've told me. Blonde guy who falls for your lame ass pick up lines. Nothing special.” He shrugged, after blowing out some smoke.
“No, dude. That guy was perfect. I didn't see one imperfection on his body!”
“Okay well...what's the big deal?” Zack shrugged again, this time leaving me confused.
“What do you mean, what's the big deal?”
“I mean, what are your motives for this, Dude?? You aren't gonna start dating again, are you?”
“No no no no no no no. No dating. Nope!” I shook my head furiously.
Sure Alex was hot and all, but when it comes to dating, I am completely off the radar. But sex, that's totally different!
Not that I'd want to hurt Alex by only wanting sex, but I'm just hoping that we’re on the same page, here. I am in no place for a serious relationship, right now. Hell, I don't really think I'll ever be.
“Well, you sure do sound like you're trying to be his boyfriend, or something.” Zack raised his brows at me.
“Boyfriend? Please. He's not that hot, Zack!” I replied, making us both laugh and shake our heads.
“You'll always be a loner, Jack.” He chuckled, taking a drag.
“And so will you!” I raised my brow at him and smirked.
“Hm...touché.” He chuckled some more.
I took another drag of my cigarette, and I thought about it some more.
Maybe a relationship with Alex wouldn't be so bad at first, but then in the end, it would all backfire. There's no hope for me in that department. Love is nothing but pain, disguised into the shape of a heart. I’m much better off without it.
He'd be much better off without me.
Maybe me and Alex could come up with some agreement. We could work something out. Like a no-love policy of some sort.
I don't know, but I just hope to see him around, soon.
