It all started when I moved in with my best friend Rian, in Baltimore, a few months earlier. Before, I had been staying in New York with my parents, but they kicked me out. Ri’s place was the next best thing, plus, I wanted to move and see other parts of the world. Even if it was only about four hours away.
But eventually the whole apartment will be mine, though, because Rian and his fiancée, Cassadee, are moving in together all the way in California. I guess they want to venture out even more than I do.
It was a sunny day outside when I woke up one morning and got dressed in a Glamour Kills top and a pair of jeans. I had work later on that afternoon, at this music store about ten minutes away from where I lived.
I thought it would be a nice day to go out and really explore the town a little. I never really checked this place out very much. I wanted to see and try new things. See what wonders it held, what the town was made of, what it had to offer.. I think that there's something that makes every place special. Everything has a meaning to different people.
I wanted to know what Baltimore had to offer for me.
And it's not like I had anything better to do, since Rian was out at work already.
I fixed up my teased blonde hair and attacked it with hairspray until I thought it was good enough. When I was done, I grabbed my car keys and headed out.

I just started cruising around, not really knowing where I wanted to go. I decided to stop at this cute little coffee shop I drove by. I could go for some coffee right about now.
When I walked into the café, the smell of coffee beans flooded my nose, and there was a short line to the cash register. A lot less hectic than it usually is at Starbucks, that's for sure.
This seems like Rian’s kind of place!
I chuckled a bit to myself at the thought, before getting in line.
It was soon my turn to order before I knew it, and I stepped up to the cashier.
But when I looked up at him, I was mesmerized. At that moment, I was absolutely smitten.
He was a tall guy, with cute black frames over his big brown eyes that I fell in love with instantly. His raven colored hair was perfectly teased in all the right places, and he just had the most fantastic features.
I'm not exaggerating when I tell you, that this guy was perfect.
I realized that I had zoned out, when I saw his lips curl up into a sexy little smirk.
“Has anyone ever told you that it's rude to stare?” He grinned, jokingly.
Shit, his smile is even cuter.
I felt my cheeks heat up, and I nervously smiled and looked away.
“Oh um..yeah, sorry.”
“No, it's okay! I was actually staring at you when you walked in, so I guess we're even.” He smiled and winked at me.
Now, he was flirting with me! How in the hell have I not fainted yet?
I tried to hide my smile by biting my lip.
I glanced behind me to make sure that I wasn't holding anyone up. Luckily, no one was behind me, and I could flirt with this guy some more.
This guy…what was his name??
I read his name tag, and it said: Jack Barakat.
I liked that name. It sounded cool to me. Had a nice ring to it.
“So, what's your name, cutie?” He continued to smirk at me.
“My name’s Alex. Nice to meet you, Jack.” I smirked back at his surprised expression.
“How'd you know my name?”
I nodded towards his name tag, and his eyes followed mine.
“Ohhh. This little piece of shit is always stealing my introductions.”
I laughed at that, and he smiled in return.
“So, Alex…what can I get you today?”
I thought for a second, before answering.
“Mm…I'm feeling a small caramel iced coffee, today.”
“Comin’ right up, Alex.” He smirked, while writing down my name on a cup and handing it to the barista.
The price showed up on the register, and I handed him the right amount.
“So, Alex..”
I loved the way my name rolled off his tongue.
“How come I've never seen you around here before?”
“Because I've never been here before. This is my first time!” I chuckled.
“Really? It's your first time coming here and you got me as your server? It must have been fate! It must be destiny!!” He joked, with a big goofy smile on his face.
“Yeah yeah, let's just hope that your coffee meets up to my standards so that I'll come back.” I teased.
“Oh please, I'll keep you coming right back for more.” He winked, causing me to roll my eyes.
“Shut the fuck up.” I laughed.
He laughed too, then turned around and took my drink from the barista.
He got out his sharpie, and began writing something extra on my cup.
Just when I started wondering what he was doing, he handed it to me.
I looked at the cup, to see that he had written his number, next to his signature and a doodle of a penis.
I looked back up at him, to see him smiling at me and shrugging.
“I hope to see you around, Alex.”
I took a sip of my coffee and gave him a warm smile.
“Looks like you will be!”
We both shared a little laugh, before I turned around and left the coffee shop; smiling way harder than I should've been, and my stomach was erupting with butterflies.
I don't know exactly what it was that made me so attracted to him so quickly.
Was it his looks?
His charm?
Maybe all of the above?
I don't know, but I just know I want to see him again, soon.
