I stood in the middle of the board area, with my glamour kills hoodie hood up earphones in, 5:30am was too early to be awake and active. I wasn’t in the mood to sitting in an airport; I made the stupid mistake of sitting up till 2am watching random films on my mac.

“Cheerful this morning aren’t you?” Jack grinned as he poked my arm
“Meh” I yawned

I looked around; I didn’t know what these guys did it. They all someway happy to be here and happy to be awake but I guess it was the coffee.

“Welcome to the earlier fliers club babe” Jack laughed as he hugged my shoulders
“Too early for this Jack, ask me later” I tired to spark a laugh
“Daww, sleepy GemGem” Jack cooed

After a while, Jack got up and decided to go talk to Rian who seemed more alert than me. But it didn’t last long, soon enough our flight was being called out over the airport intercom. We all gathered our belongs and began to board the plane.

Jack rushed onto the plane and shouted he bagged a window seat. So shuffled past him and took my seat behind him and tired to make myself comfortable. Then I looked up and a smile cracked across my face when I seen Matt was taking a seat beside me.

“Ah good, someone descent to sit beside for once” he laughed
“Oh come one, they all can’t be that bad” I said, but just as the words left my mouth, Jack peeked his head over the seat and began to rock back and forth.

“Gem, I’m stealing your brother for the next 4 hours. Just an fyi” he childishly grinned before slowly sliding down into his seat and then popped back up and then slid back down.

“Scratch that” I whispered as I leaned into Matt
“Good”

I pulled out my iPod, and placed my earphones in and tired to get comfortable for the flight.

The flight seemed to last forever, but I managed to drift off to sleep for a little bit but when I woke up I realised I’d rested my head on Matt’s shoulder.

“Shit! Sorry Matt” I yawned
“Don’t worry, you looked so peaceful I didn’t wanna wake you”

I rested my head once again on Matt’s shoulder and I noticed a small smile on his face.

“You’re a comfortable pillow Matt,” I lightly giggled
“Thanks, not often I get that compliment”

For the next two hours we just causally chatted, it was nice we rarely got to do this and it was better now than ever. We talked about everything from how life had been in the last few months and what I getting myself into. He even asked me about Jake, which I was fine about, I needed to bitch to someone about my “joke” of a relationship as I called it and he was very willing to.

Finally we in Utah and I was more than happy to get off a plane, get to the hotel and sleep so I was ready for the mayhem for getting organised for the 1st day of Warped.

“Sleep, please” I laughed to Matt as we all gathered our stuff
“Sleep? Sleep is for the weak” he chuckled
“Call me a weakling then” I giggled

After we all rounded up after baggage claim and headed towards the cabs that where waiting for us at arrivals. By coincidence the numbers worked that only Matt and me ended up in a cab by our selves.

“How do we always end up meeting like this?” he chuckled as he slid into the seat beside me
“Do you believe in fate?” I asked him
“Are you being serious or jokingly asking?” he looked at me
“Serious, I think”
“Okay, shoot”
“Well I do, fate brings people together. Not that they know it, it’s just a feeling, an emotion. I’ve yet to feel it myself but who knows” I grinned, as I shrugged my shoulders
“Interesting theory you have there” he gently smiled
“I guess so”

For a moment, when he smiled at me. I felt something, it wasn’t the usual butterflies, and it was something deeper. I wasn’t sure why I was feeling it, or what it was but it calming.

I jumped onto the double bed infront of me and snuggled into the blankets. Tired wasn’t the word to describe how I was feeling. Since I was the only girl on tour, the room situation was simple, I got one for myself. Alex wasn’t comfortable with me sharing with one of the guys and well he didn’t want to himself just encase he’d get preoccupied tonight.

Next thing I know, I was being poked in the arm. I slowly opened my eyes, and seen that Alex was laying on my right and Jack to my left.

“What are you too idiots doing here” I yawned
“We came to wake you silly,” Jack giggled
“I only just fell asleep,” I said as I stretched
“Yeah like 4 hours ago” Alex scoffed

I spring up in the bed, and reached for my phone. It was 9:30pm, I guess my tiredness go the best of me.

“Dammit” I cursed
“Well get your ass out of bed and get ready, dinner and then we’re are heading out” Alex laughed as he rubbed my head

I blew my hair out of my face, as I watched the two of them leave the room and Jack managed to stick out his tongue at me.

I yawned and stretched one last time and threw myself out of bed and into the shower. After that, I rummaged through my suitcase to find something to wear. I went with a black lace crop top and high waisted white skirt, tucking the top into the skirt.

I smiled as I looked at myself in the mirror, it wasn’t often I got to get dolled up, between college and work I never really found the chance, well yeah drinking in my apartment but that doesn’t count.

I straighten my hair and applied some make-up before checking the time on my phone, knowing either Jack or Alex burst through my door informing me that we were going and just as I pressed the lock button on my phone there was a knock on the door and it swiftly opened.

“Gem, I am starving are you ready yet?” Jack laughed
“Yes Jacky, I am ready thanks for politely asking” I faked a smile as I spoke

He just returned my smile and nodded towards the door, almost rushing me. I grabbed my crop leather jacket and my matching handbag and scurried out the door my heels clicked along the wooden floor.

We all met in the lobby, and then grabbed some taxi’s and headed to the restaurant.

I had to admit, my head was fuzzy. I had the feeling that Jack was trying to get me drunk buying me drink and drink. I watched from the bar as Alex was trying to chat up a girl and I giggled to myself as I sipped at my wine.

“Are you are finding that funny?” Matt spoke softly into my ear
“Of course, my older brother hitting on a girl is always a laughing matter” I giggled
“And yet people think you two are twins”
“Twins, far from it. Alex would be fuming now if roles where reversed” I said as rolled my eyes and took another sip of wine
“True, I seen the way he was, when you where with Jake”
“Don’t remind me” I scoffed as I downed the last of my wine

Then I placed the empty glass back on the bar, then Matt called over the barman, I couldn’t hear what he asked but he held up two fingers so I think he had ordered something for me.

“Matt, you don’t have to get me something. I’ve had Jack doing that all for me,” I laughed
“One more won’t hurt” he grinned at me

He placed a beer infront of me and I unwillingly took it. We stood here for another while and once again chatted. I looked away for a second, and I seen Alex almost glaring daggers at me, I thought I was seeing things so I shook it off.

One beer turned into two, which then turned into five. If I wasn’t fuzzy before this, I was beyond it at this point.

“But, but, but, Mattt … are you sure I can handle this” I slurred
“Gem, you are drunk so I’m going to say this simply”
“Finneeeee” I whined
“Yes, you can handle this”

I giggled to myself, and then I pulled out my phone and looked at the time. I noticed has a missed call from Alex and also I text from him.

Alex
Hey, tell Matt I’ve got back to the room and tell him to be prepared for it to be locked ;)

It was sent an hour ago, so I guess he was getting some action.

“Heyyy, Matt” I sang as I held up the message to him
“He always does this, well for once he told me the door was locked. Most nights I ended up sitting outside it till Rian or Colussy find me” he chuckled
“Well not tonight, you’re bunking with me” I grinned as I grabbed his hand and pulled him towards the door
“Well, if Alex asks in the morning. I’m blaming you” he grinned

With that we headed towards the main door of the club and hailed a cab. I stumbled towards my room and fumbled with my room key before finally getting it opened and almost falling in. But Matt luckily caught me and closed the door behind him his foot.

I smiled to myself; I kicked off my heels, threw my jacket on the chair in the corner and fell backwards onto the bed. I pushed myself to the top and quickly got under the covers.

“You know you can get in too” I smiled at Matt as I patted the space behind me in the bed

I stretched and yawned as I rolled on my side and cuddled into the covers, not caring that I was still in my clothes. I felt Matt gently get into the bed and pull the covers around him, and just as I was falling asleep I felt him wrap his arm around my waist, a smile spread across my face just as sleep took over me.
