I woke up to the sound of rustling in the kitchen downstairs, I wasn’t in the mood to be robbed right now, and I just wanted to sleep. I yawned and reached over to see it was 11am.

“Who the fuck, robs someone at this time of the morning?” I asked myself, as I slowly lifted myself out of the bed.

It took my just a little longer to get out of bed than usual, I’d finished college for the summer and now I just loved the perks of it. Sleeping in late was one of them. Sleeping my own bed, at home in Baltimore another, I’d missed it here but I was sad at the fact it wasn’t what it used to be. I missed spending the summers with my older brother. Even though he’s 3 years older, we are joined at the hip but he’s career didn’t give him much time to spend here at home with me. Lucky enough he’d given me the right to his house during vacations and now the summer, well someone had to be here when Lisa (his ex) dropped off the dogs, Sebastian and Peyton and to be honest I loved the little devils.

I stretched as my feet kissed the floor and I grabbed one of Alex’s old glamour kills hoodie that he’d left here and headed towards the bathroom. I looked at my reflection in the mirror and decided I’d need to shower after I dealt with the noise downstairs. So I brushed my teeth, tied up my hair and then left the head downstairs. I grabbed a baseball bat from the top of the stairs just encase and slowly crept down.

I turned the corner to see a figure standing in the kitchen and it looked like he was helping himself to a cup of coffee.

“The fuck?” I asked myself

I rolled over to behind the island and peered around the corner again, I noticed he was wearing skinny jeans and a pair of nike dunks. Whoever this intruder was he was a badly dress one, not the usual style. I jumped from the corner and raised the bat above my head.

“I don’t care who you are but get out of my house, it’s too early in the morning for this shit,” I shouted, posed to hit him straight in the face

He turned around the face me and I nearly dropped the bat on my foot in shock.

“Gem, you mean my house? How many times do I have to tell you” Alex laughed
“Yeah next time a call or text would be nice, you know Lex” I grinned as I placed the bat on the floor and ran over to hug him
“Are you wearing my hoodie?” He asked
“Alex, just shut up please,” I laughed as I hugged him harder

“So your actually off tour for once during the summer” I asked with a smile as Alex placed his suitcase onto his bed
“Yep, but only for a week or two, we start warped after that”
“Don’t care, I have my brother back that’s all that matters” I grinned as jumped onto the bed beside his case
“So my sis, what are your plans then if you’re so excited” he chuckled
“Plans? Lex don’t you know me, I never plan. I’m a spur of the moment type of girl”
“Yeah that way of thinking will make me an uncle way too soon”

I slapped him in the arm hard and glared at him.

“I’m not that kind of woman”
“Speaking of impregnating, where’s Jake anyway?”
“Alex, don’t you remember anything I tell you?”
“Dammit, did I fuck up again?”
“Yes, we broke up 4 months ago, geez tour does really fuck with you”
“Yep, but I still love you sis” he chuckled as he hugged me one armed

We talked more as he unpacked some things, which then turned into a complete bitch fest and he told me of all the stuff the boys got up too on tour.

“Oh yeah, speaking of boys they’ll be over later, we have some tour issues to sort out now before Jack and Rian head back to LA, so better sooner than later”

I just simply nodded my head before speaking.

“So Matt and the rest shall be over then?”
“Of course, it was clearly his idea”
“In that case, I better shower then, I can’t look like crap for company,” I grinned
“Gemma, you know the boys have seen in worse conditions”
“Don’t care”

With that I skipped out of his room to grab my shower stuff. I almost felt giggy, the though of Matt Flyzik being here did that to me. I’d know Matt for 8 years now and well the years had grown on me and I developed a huge crush on him, I always had butterflies when I was around him and I knew he seen that. Alex on the other hand, was obviously as usual.

After my shower I found a pair of denim shorts, my vest Blink 182 top and decided to wear that since the day was warm. I straighten my hair and applied a light layer of make-up to make myself a bit representable.

“You really have way too much time on your hands when college is out” Alex laughed as he sat infront of the t.v with his mac on his lap.
“Well you try doing assignments and project non-stop for 9 months then talk to me” I said sticking out my tongue at him

Just then the doorbell rang and I knew it was probably the rest of the All Time Low family, I giggly jumped towards the door to open it and then I was greeted the smiling face of Rian Dawson.

“Hey Gem, long time no see” he grinned as he hugged me
“Aww thank Ri-Ri same to you”

I showed him in and greeted Alex with a bro hug and made himself comfortable. Then the door opened briskly almost scaring the crap out of me. It was only one person, Jack Barakat my brother crazy best friend and for once he was early for something.

“GEM GEM!” he shouted as he guested for me to hug him
“JACKY!” I giggled as he engulfed me in a hug
“Aww babe, I’ve missed you tons”
“Trust me, the days have been unbearable” I joked

The rest of the crew slowly arrived and of course I received tons of hugs and Zack picking me up and spinning me around being the most annoying but he knew I loved it.

“Fuck, Flyzik is late for once” Rian laughed as he checked the time on his phone
“He said something about going to see his parents before this and you know how they are” Alex nodded towards him

The Xbox eventfully distracted the boys as they waited for Matt to arrive; while preoccupied my time with Internet. I had become some immersed by it I didn’t hit Flyzik arrived and put his arms down around me on the counter top.

“Jesus Christ, you scared there for minute Matt” I laughed as I slightly turned my head to him
“And hi to you too Gem” he grinned, his smile causing me to melt inside

His arm wrapped around me tight, hugging me. I tired to keep my face a normal as possible but inside I was grinning like a fool. I thought back over the last 10 years, we’d grown close. At first I was shy around him, just the fact I was that way with everyone at first, even ask Jack. But at time went by, we grew closer and closer. And then I realised I actually had more deeper feelings for him but I knew he’d never return them, he seen me as Alex’s baby sister all the guys did so it was simple as that.

“Aww Gem, I have missed you,” he cooed as he released me from the hug and leaned against the counter top behind me.
“As have I Matt. College life isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, nothing beats you guys” I smiled
“Music engineering and management? I thought that was the dream?” he asked
“It still is, but just the college side not what I was excepting. But well another year and I’ll be fully qualified”
“Good, then the worlds your oyster” he laughed

We continued to chat for ages but anyone realised that Matt had finally graced them with his presence. So with that I started talking about tour related stuff, I was half listening in since well I had been studying that for the last 3 years, may as well put my classes to use.

I mindlessly scrolled through my facebook, almost feeling sick looking at the pictures my so-called college friends had been posting about their summer so far until I heard my name pop into conversation.

“Gemma on tour? No, no way” Alex sneered,
