We'll Let The Fires Just Bathe Us

It's Too Cold Outside For Angels To Fly

Yeah I know. I’m a dick. I couldn’t help it, I just lost control. At first I didn’t know what caused me to become so angry but once Alex walked out that door I knew.
In some sick way, causing pain is comforting because that’s what I’m used to. Ever since I can remember, it’s been me against the world and I have been doing absolutely everything in my power to cause pain but now, someone actually expected me to be good and was proud of me when I was. That change in expectations urged me to be even worse than before because I didn’t want people to presume I’d be good.
I hadn’t seen Alex in three hours and I knew I needed to go look for him because of how cold it was. I stepped out of my house, chuckling at the thought of getting an electric collar for him to wear so that he could only go but so far away from the house but I wouldn’t do that, if he runs then that just means I get the entertainment of tracking him down and punishing him.

If I were an angel, where would I go?

I’d fly.

I knew his wings weren’t strong enough to carry him very far so he had to be close. I looked up at the tree tops, scanning for my slave, wondering around my land for a while. When I heard a shivered breath I knew he was close. I looked up and about thirty feet ahead was a tree, at the very top which was about about fifty feet off the ground, sat my Alex. I smiled and quickly climbed up it. Alex was wrapped up in his wings, probably trying to keep out the cold.

“Lex.” I spoke.

The minute my voice penetrated the air, he tried to fly away but I grabbed his ankle with one hand and hung on to the branch with the other. I’ll admit, his wings had some power to them, but I could overpower him easily. I yanked him back and grabbed his arm, his wings still flapping against me, trying to get away. Anger seared through my veins and into my throat.

“DON’T YOU TRY TO RUN FROM ME!” I screamed at him for the second time that day.

He froze, his wide, petrified eyes looking up into mine. I forced myself to calm down.

“Come inside, you’re freezing.” I murmured.

It was true, his skin was like ice. He exhaled, his breath hung in a cloud before him as he nodded slowly. I jumped down easily and watched as he gracefully flew down, his wings attuned to every shift in the wind. He’d only been an angel of a few days so I was impressed with how much progress he’d made.

“Let me go.” He struggled when I’d grabbed his arm after he’d landed.
“No.” I replied through gritted teeth, tightening my grip.

He needed to be punished for running away.

“Stop it Jack!” He whimpered.

I knew exactly how hard I had to squeeze before I snapped his arm.

“If I add one more ounce of pressure, your arm will snap. Do not try to run from me again do you understand?” I asked, feeling him shrink away from me.

He nodded slightly and I released him, his skin was white where my hand had been but I knew it’d bruise.

Once back inside, Alex headed back up to his room, probably to warm up. I sighed and ran my fingers through my hair. He was still being disobedient. A trained slave wouldn’t have tried to change me and make me good; a trained slave wouldn’t have run away, a trained slave would always show respect when I’d speak to them, a trained slave wouldn’t dare do anything Alex does on a daily basis. I wanted to take him to my friend Tony’s house. He had a slave named Vic who was very well trained. Although I didn’t want Alex quite as obedient as Vic, I like his little rebellious and spunky side, I did want him to show me more respect and obedience. Alex was like a dog. You don’t want to beat your dog until it loses it’s personality, you just want to do it to the point where they’ll be obedient; to come when called, to leave when shooed away, to sit, speak, and do what I tell him to.

So I decided to do just that.

I rung up Tony.
