Chapter 17

I remember waking up in Alex's tiny little arms. It's a little strange, because he's 6'0 and since I'm a vampire, I'm 7'2.

Next thing I know I'm being cuffed, gaged, blind folded, and dragged Into the back of a car.

We drive for what seems like forever, until they stop and untie us. They drop us off about a mile from the kingdom gates, and drive away in the blink of an eye. Alex is still too sore to walk more than 1/4 of a mile, so I end up carrying him.





"Oh my god where were you two!?" Sloan yells, running towards me and hugging me with a death grip. When she lets go I continue to walk to the kitchen and start to make myself a tea.

"What happened!? Jack!" She yells, tugging on my arm. I want to speak but I don't think I can talk right now.

"You!" She cries, letting go of my arm and storming towards Alex. He stays frozen in place.

"What the hell did you do to him!?" She screams, grabbing a fist full of his hair.

"Owwww-okay okay calm down I didn't-" He starts.

"Explain this instant, or I'll kill you myself." She hisses, shoving him to the floor. He stands up shortly.

"Demon king kidnapped us and stuck us in a cell until he signed a paper saying he'd give a whole bunch of stuff to them." Alex says.

"But why is he like this? What did you do!?" She yells at him.

"I didn't do shit! If you don't-" Alex starts. I hear something shatter and finally turn around to find Alex surrounded by a pile of broken glass.

"SLOAN!" I yell. She turns to face me, her face pale.

"Clean it up, right now. Mind your own damn business for once!" I yell.

"Alex, go take a shower and put some clothes on." I say. He nods.

And as everyone leaves the room and is out of ear shot, I fall to my knees, sobbing and pounding on the cabinets like the mess I am.
