Welcome To My Life
Your running mouth falls on deaf ears
When we got to my locker I opened it up and went through my books for the right ones. While I was doing that, all of a sudden Jenna’s body slammed against the locker next to me. I quickly turned around to find Jack walking past, smirking at Jenna.
“Hey!” I exclaimed, slamming my locker shut and following him.
“Liz, don’t…” Jenna started, but I ignored her.
From the look on his face I figured Jack hadn't noticed me standing next to Jenna. Instead of waiting for me, he turned around and started quickly walking away, followed by his group of friends, including Alex, a guy with really short hair and a rather muscular guy.
“Don’t you walk away from me, Jack” I yelled at him, while fastening my pace to catch up with him.
Everyone was staring at us. I could tell they weren’t used to people standing up to Jack. As I caught up with Jack, I passed him and halted in front of him, causing him to stand still as well.
“Why did you do that?” I asked him calmly.
“Because she’s weird” Jack snarled. “Not that it’s any of your business.”
“It is, actually. She’s my friend, she’s not weird and being weird is not a reason to bully someone” I answered.
“Oh yeah, what are you gonna do about it?” Jack sneered.
“I’m not sure you want to find out” I hissed, stepping closer to him.
Even though I was a lot shorter than him and had to look up at him, Jack did not at all seem comfortable with me being so close.
“Is that a threat?” he asked.
“I don’t know, would it work?” I sneered.
“Okay, that’s enough” Alex suddenly said, trying to step between me and Jack, probably thinking I was about to punch him or something. Which, to be honest, I probably would’ve if we weren’t at school.
“If you ever as much as look at her again, I’ll make sure you regret it” I said quietly, leaning in, making sure only Jack could hear me. “And yes, that is a threat.”
I stepped back, leaving Jack speechless in front of me.
“Come on Jenna, let’s go” I told Jenna, who had been keeping her distance.
She nodded and headed down the hall in the opposite direction. I followed her.
“I thought you were going to punch him!” she exclaimed as I caught up with her.
“I wanted to” I admitted. “But I didn’t want to get expelled or suspended.”
“Understandable” Jenna nodded.
Notes
Since this one was quite short I just decided to post it already :)
