Oh Calamity!

“Alex I need to tell you something” I could even hear the shakiness in my voice, Alex up at me concern filling his face,
“Come on then” he smiled clearly trying to help me feel less worried, I sat next to him,
“What is it?” he asked trying to look calm but I knew better,
“I” I started then stopped thinking how to word it “Laura said something again today”
“What did she say, why do you look nervous?” he said, I could see Jack and Alex communicating silently, it really annoyed me when they did that,
“She made some comment about one of your tweets about me”
“I haven’t tweeted about you in a while” Alex said confused
“you tried to look didn’t you” he laughed “is that why your nervous?” he smiled I looked down it was part of it, “don’t worry I did that because I knew you would” he sounded happy with himself, “but no look” he said getting his phone out, “other than joking with the guys all I put was about Tay and the guys touring with us, it was just announced”
“She said it was about her too” I said quietly, I don’t know why it bothered me so much,
“it will be because you are touring too, someone else will have mentioned you because you are coming with us” he smiled “that’s all don’t worry I won’t put anything on there you don’t know other than band stuff most of which you hear about anyway” he smiled “there’s more” I said quietly
“Oh, go on” he said but looked happy I volunteered it
“I got asked to talk at the end of class because I was distracted thinking about it”
“Did you get in trouble?” he frowned,
“No, she was just asking what was bothering me because she had noticed it before”
“So it wasn’t other people in your class?” he said folding his arms,
“No but I was worried you would go mad about Laura, and” I said rambling unable to stop,
“I get it, you need to tell me but its ok, see no reason to be worried to come and talk” he smiled, I nodded feeling a little stupid,
“Yeah I made a big deal out of nothing” I shrugged
“Well not nothing, I do want to talk to the school but I would rather you agree to it first”
“But-”
“What? She isn’t going to stop” he said calmly, I knew I would lose this discussion
“But she will be worse if she knows she is getting to me”
“She already does, she knows to use Tay”
“But she will be even worse” I complained
“no she won’t because if she keeps it up she will just get in more and more trouble, and her friends don’t seem to like that, they will ditch her and then she will be the loser and she will be too scared to do all that alone”
“But what if they don’t and they start more” I said worried,
“then the school will deal with them too” Alex smiled, “ash we aren’t putting up with this because you’re scared of her, that’s no reason to go through school feeling like you do, your teachers are showing they want to help already” he said gently, I stopped arguing I had nothing more to say
“look think about it, we will talk again later, I don’t want to force you but I can’t sit back and watch this” he said putting his arm around me, I nodded and stayed there, I thought about it and as much as I didn’t want him to I knew he would soon anyway so I decided to go along with it
“Ok you can do it” I said quietly
“What?” Alex said confused watching TV
“Tell the school” I sighed,
“Good”
“Don’t sound so happy about it” Jack laughed
“Well I’m not really but I don’t know what else to do, your right she knows using Tay bothers me, I know it won’t eventually but I think her using it makes things worse”
“Ok thank you I will speak to them tomorrow”
“Ok”
“I erm haven’t did my homework yet” I said nervously, normally he wanted it done by now
“go get it then” he said not mad but he didn’t look happy, I ran and got it and sat working on it, I did a little, I didn’t really have much, then worked on some extra bits trying to get them out the way,
“How much more do you have?” Jack asked
“Nothing, this is due in next week” I smiled,
“Come play guitar?” Jack asked, I jumped up putting it away, we sat messing around, he was getting me to practice stuff, he watched me play then started talking
“See talking to him works better doesn’t it?” he smiled,
“Kind of but” I paused
“But you are still scared of admitting stuff, even when it worked out?” he smiled
“Now I’m worried what will happen” I said quietly
“ash it will be fine, your school is good with bullying” he smiled I nodded but didn’t feel confident in it, he played with me to get my mind off and joked around, the next day I sat down after school, talked to the guys and did my home work
“so I talked to the school, they are going to keep an eye on her for now, any more complaints and they will do something but they would like to catch her in the act so tell us if it keeps happening ok?” Alex said, I nodded doing my work
“Are you ok with that?” he asked
“Yeah, I guessed they would do that, I have no proof, she is good at sounding like she wasn’t doing anything wrong”
“they are listening out, she has been warned from a while ago about threatening to spread stuff about us, they are now aware of Tay so they will listen for that too, anything else she says tell me and we can add it to the list ok?”
“Ok, that’s mainly it, and name calling but they will listen for that” I smiled and finished my work,
“I’m going to go do some art” I smiled and walked up the stairs, I had been working on my stitching a lot, as I was told that was my best piece so far, so it was almost done, I just had to add some extra detail to finish it off, I didn’t want the guys to see it until it was completely done, I was left for long enough to just about finish it, when Jack walked in
“Hey you ok up here?” he asked. I put it away
“What you hiding” he laughed
“My art, I’m almost done, I will show you in a bit but let me finish it first?” I asked he laughed
“Give me a minute then?” he asked knowing I would agree to get rid of him
“Fine” I smiling putting it away carefully
“You were kind of quiet about school, are you ok with it, you seemed worried, now you don’t care” he looked worried about me, again
“Because I was worried they would go in all guns blazing but they are avoiding doing anything, so it’s fine, unless she does something big they won’t do anything, and she isn’t stupid enough to get caught”
“So you are happy because they won’t do anything and she will keep getting away with it?”
“I am happy because they will watch her so she will do less, and if she does do something it won’t look like I told on her it will look like her own fault”
“Hmm, we are going to have to see how this goes” he said not happy
“Ok” I said knowing unless they went mad, which I would try to stop, nothing would happen,
“Fine, I’m giving you 10 minutes then dragging you down” he smiled
“15?”
“fine” he laughed and walked away, I did my last few bits, I thought I only needed 5 but I needed 10 to fully finish then a few minutes to tidy any loose threads and took it out of the holder, Jack and Alex came into my room
“Ok let’s see what you were hiding then?” I got it out and put it down neatly on my desk, they looked at it for a while making me nervous maybe it wasn’t as good as I thought
“Ash that’s amazing!” Jack smiled, so happy
“Yeah, I didn’t think it would work as well as it did, well done Hun” Alex smiled kissing my forehead
“You really think it’s good?” I asked
“Yes, now move Zack will want to see this”
“And Tay, she’s been asking how it was going none of us have seen it in so long”
“I wanted you to just see the finished piece” I smiled, they sent pictures to the guys and took me down to hang out.
