Kiss and Sell

If I Ever Let You Down, I'm Sorry

"You do realize that your parents are being notified of this little disagreement right now, right?" He said as Jack and Alex exited the office. They had been talked to the longest seeing as they had been accused of "starting it all" and with Jack's reputation it wasn't like the principal was going to believe Alex when he said Jack had nothing to do with it.

The two boys ignored the man as the door was slammed behind them by one or the other no one really knew. Alex sighed, running his hands through his hair frustratingly and hissed, "You just had to start a fight, didn't you?" Jack glared over at him and Alex couldn't help but remember that this was the exact same way Jack got into a coma and he got raped. They fought. They always fought. Alex groaned, stepping over to the taller and looping his arms around his neck as he buried his face into it.

Jack wrapped his arms around Alex's waist hesitantly and Alex muttered, "Sorry." He was really stubborn and did not want to start a big long apology so he just stuck with that and looked up to kiss Jack's cheek. Jack seemed content with it, nudging Alex's nose with his in his own silent apology. They stood like that for a moment before Alex finally pulled back and said, "Let's skip." while grabbing Jack's hand and dragging him down the hall.

Jack bit his lip. He seemed hesitant as the two made their way outside and Alex noticed and quickly teased, "Oh is the bad boy scared he's gonna be caught skipping?"

Jack rolled his eyes as Alex linked their arms and pressed himself into his side. Jack was wearing his regular leather jacket and it always made him practically radiate with heat, while Alex had Danny's jacket on he had given him, yet it wasn't as toasty as Jack so obviously all he wanted was to snuggle with the raven-haired boy. He nestled himself into Jack's side, though it was kind of hard seeing as they were still walking to the car.

Alex climbed in first and then Jack who got in the passenger seat and sighed as he turned on the heater and pushed the vents towards Alex. Alex blushed because he hadn't realized Jack had noticed how cold he really was. He smiled at the boy sheepishly and pulled out of the school's parking lot. He didn't really know where he was going, but he figured Jack wouldn't mind where it was. He glanced over and saw the boy had his face pressed up against the glass, half asleep, and chuckled as he pulled over and turned the car off.

"Hey babe." He said as he nudged Jack making him turn to face him with a questioning look, "I wanna show you something." He shrugged, climbing out of the car and saying, "C'mon!"

Jack got out and followed Alex through a small park and towards a fence. It had vines and bushes overgrown all around it and Jack really couldn't make sense of what Alex was trying to show him. Alex pushed away what he could of the brush and pulled at a broken piece of fence, opening it and holding it for Jack.

"Go in, I'll be right behind you." Alex said before nodding at the hole. Jack sighed and bent down as much as he could to squeeze through the opening, Alex crawling in right behind him. The fence snapped shut and Alex brushed his hands on his shirt before pointing up at a tree, "Up there."

He walked over to it and glanced back, "Give me a boost." He said. Jack sighed and walked over to him, pushing the back of his thighs up until he was able to reach the first branch. He climbed up enough where the first branch was clear before turning around and holding his hand out to Jack and helping him up. The slighter hauled the younger up and as soon as they were both in the tree Alex looked up, pushing at a door at the bottom of the tree house. Jack watched as it was opened and Alex climbed in.

Jack followed after him. Alex helped him inside and closed the door after him while Jack glanced around. It was really dark, but it was kind of because it was cloudy out and another tree blocked the sun from the tree house, but Jack could see that no one had been up there in a long, long time. There were Pokemon cards scattered across the floor, old journals and used papers, and there was even a small mattress pressed against the wall in the corner.

Alex crawled over to it and laid down, motioning Jack over with a wave of his hand, and Jack laid down beside him while draping an arm over his waist. Alex glanced around the old tree house before mumbling, "This used to be where I went whenever Dad threw me out." He sighed, "And, like, whenever anything else happened. Like when me and Jeremy would argue. God, I can't believe I dated that creep." He chuckled before looking over at Jack who didn't look as amused, "Haven't really come out here lately. Never really needed to. Always... kind of used other things as comfort. I used to actually deal with my problems back then... A lot has changed, huh?"

Jack squeezed Alex's waist softly and pressed the tip of his nose against his temple, as if he was trying to comfort him in someway as the boy continued, "I mean, I used to, like, have real friends who didn't just use me for sex... and... I wasn't so depressing all the time. I dunno what happened." He glanced over at Jack, "I just changed because it was like something in me snapped when all that stuff with Jeremy happened." A tear rolled down his cheek, "I never told you but he used to b-beat me a lot, kind of like Peter, b-but it was different with him. I'm used to Dad doing it, y'know, used to my family treating me like shit and I never really thought it wasn't a normal thing, never expected better from them, but with him it was like... He was my boyfriend he was supposed to take care of me and stuff." He sniffled, "Which is why I started being a complete skank. I wanted to prove I could take care of myself and be an adult. I wanted to grow up. Sex was a 'grown up' thing. I just thought it made me an adult. Pretty stupid, huh?" He asked. It was like Alex was having some kind of epiphany.

"I don't know why I did it anymore. I was such a baby." He glanced over at Jack, "And all the drugs I did. I've made so many fucking mistakes on drugs. What is wrong with me?" He turned around completely and buried his face in Jack's chest while Jack rubbed his back, "I-I'm so sorry. It's my fault for all the times we argued. Y-you told me to stop doing drugs and I didn't listen. I did them again wh-while you were in the hospital. I-I didn't know though, b-but when I f-found out... I-I'm so sorry, Jack. I promise I'm going to ch-change. I s-swear." He whimpered, taking a shaky breath and smelling the relaxing scent of Jack. He didn't know why he was suddenly opening up so much, but it felt good and soon enough he was sobbing into Jack's chest, "I missed you so much." He eventually choked out.

He felt Jack's hand rub soothing circles on his back before his voice was breathing into his hair, "It's going to be okay."
