Kiss Me Again

I got my books out of my locker that I needed for the day. I was seriously fucking tired, my step-brother, Derek decided to throw some huge college party (the campus isn't far away) at the house last night, and they all just insisted on blasting loud, obnoxious pop songs. All this happened while I was upstairs TRYING to study. I got hardly any sleep at all, what with Miley Cyrus screaming something about a wrecking ball blaring in my ear, causing the house to feel like an earthquake.
All I know is, if I fail that chemistry quiz because of fucking Derek, my father will not be pleased with me at all. My father's rarely ever home due to work and all the business trips. I never see the guy, but when I do, he always asks me about my grades. Anything less than an A is shameful. I won't be "as successful as him" and "no one will ever want me."
I deeply sighed, and headed down the hall.

"Hey there, Gaskarth." I heard from behind me. I quickly put on a huge grin that didn't match how I really felt at all. I turned around and greeted the 3 cheerleaders who had approached me. "Hope you had a fan-TASTIC Thanksgiving." Lisa winked at me.
"Ha yeah I did, thanks."
"Anytime. See ya round', Lexxy." she grinned seductively, walking off with her posse, their hips swerving from side to side as they walked. I'll admit, it turned me on a bit. Those girls are pretty cool, but I do know that they're known as class A sluts. They've slept with the whole football team, (including Zack and Rian.) I scoffed, and continued walking down the hall.
I honestly just wanted to get to class as soon as I could, so I could at least get a little shut-eye during homeroom. I picked up my pace, not wanting to speak to anyone like I usually have to. Anytime someone looked my way, I just flashed them my classic fake smile and kept on moving. I was so close to getting to the classroom, when I saw my friends standing over at Jack's locker, smiling my way expectantly.
I internally sighed and made my way over to them.
"Sup, Lex!" they all greeted me.
"Hey guys, how's it goin'?" I tried not to look so tired, but I obviously failed.
"Hey man, you look dead. Did you even sleep last night?" Jack scanned my face.
I just shook my head no and mentioned about how Derek threw another one of his grand parties last night.
"Aww..man that sucks. But hopefully this'll wake ya up a bit. There's a new girl; her name is Tay, and she's totally hot, you should ask her out." Jack grinned, raising his eyebrows up and down.
"Whoa whoa whoa..are you sure she'd like me?" I said with a shocked look on my face.
A few seconds later everyone started laughing out loud.
"You the man, Gaskarth!" Jack laughed.
Okay, so maybe I have a bit of a reputation with chicks. They all seem to be attracted to me..not to brag but I've just never had an issue. They all say yes.
But don't think I'm a player, I had my reasons for breaking up with them.
I just want to find my soulmate. I want to find The One. None of the girls I've dated have ever made me fall in love. I know it sounds stupid, but I just feel like I need to find the girl I'm going to marry. Even if I'm just barely 18.
I was still tremendously tired, so I told the guys I'd catch up with them later. I walked into homeroom and sighed with content, knowing that I could finally put my head down and sleep till the bell rings.

The morning went by painfully slow. But I was feeling pretty good about my test in chemistry, we didn't have much to do in English so I got to study a bit. Now it was time for Algebra. Not a hard class, but still not my favorite.
I took my seat near the back and sighed. I looked up when the bell rang, to see a girl I've never seen before. This must be that new girl Jack was talking about. She was kinda awkwardly staring down at her shoes, as if she were embarrassed. When the teacher started to introduce her to the class, she turned into a bright red tomato. This girl is hella cute. I thought.
She looked up and made eye contact with me for a second, then she looked away. I started to feel kinda..weird. But a good weird. Sorta..bubbly? Whatever. I was so drawn to this girl, I couldn't take my eyes off of her. Tay Jardine...what a beautiful name..
My thoughts were interrupted when I noticed her walking over, sitting in the seat beside me. She was looking down, fidgeting with her hands.
Must be a nervous habit or something. I thought.
I grinned at her. "Hi, I'm Alex."
She slowly turned her head to look at me. Her long, black hair fell off her face a bit, revealing her beautiful brown eyes. I felt myself literally getting lost in them. Was this even normal?!? She has the most cutest round cheeks. This girl is perfect.
I felt my cheeks heating up as she spoke back to me:
"I'm Tay, but you already know that, right?"
I blinked at her a few times. I was lost for words at her wonderful, magnificent voice.
She smirked at me, and looked at the front of the room. I did the same.
Class went by, but I wasn't paying attention to the lesson. I kept glimpsing at Tay from the corner of my eye. It was hard to resist. Suddenly, she began writing something on an index card. Then she passed it to me.
Stop staring at me.
I blushed deeply, then looked over at her. She glared at me.
Then I decided to write back.
Sorry, couldn't help it.
I passed it back to her. She read it then wrote back:
How charming.
We continued to pass notes like this.
Where are you from?
New York.
Why'd you move here?
She stopped for a moment, then wrote:
I'm afraid that's confidential.
So you're full of secrets, huh? :P
I guess you can say that.
Will I ever find out these secrets? ;)
Quit flirting with me and do your math.
She smirked at me, then turned back to the front of the room. I grinned, then did the same.
When the bell rang, it was time for lunch. I turned to Tay, to see her staring down at her schedule.
"It's time for lunch now, ya know? You should sit with me and the guys, then we can show you where your next classes are afterwards." I offered. She looked up at me and nodded, while also flashing me the most perfect smile I've ever seen. I grinned back at her.
I led her to the cafeteria, and she was walking beside me. I noticed that she was as tall as my shoulders. I couldn't help but grin at that. She noticed, and gave me a small smile in return.
Usually when I smiled, it was fake. But with her,
It was different.
