I pulled up to the school parking lot and got out, walking inside the doors. I looked around for the office. Many bodies began to flood the halls; heading to lockers, stopping to chat with friends. I instantly felt a small rush of anxiety in my stomach. I felt my palms getting sweaty. Leaving my old friends was hard enough, now meeting new people, especially being the "new kid" would be super tough.
I sighed. Then I felt a small tap on my shoulder. I turned around to see a tall, lanky boy with skunk hair that looked like it was filled with hairspray. "Hey there, Ma-lady, I'm Jack!" he flashed a goofy smile. Class clown. I can already tell. I gave him a smirk and introduced myself. "I'm Tay. Nice to meet you." I held out my hand for him to shake.
"Are you new here? I've never seen you around, and I'm a pretty tall guy so I think I've seen everyone with my skyscraper-like abilites."
I cracked a smile at him. What a goof.
"Yeah, it's my first day! I'm currently looking for the office so I can get my schedule."
"Ohh..yeah! The office is right around that corner." he said, pointing to the left of the hall. "Just look out for the middle-aged woman at the front desk..she'll probably be sulking about another one of her failed marriages." Jack rolled his eyes.
"Geez.." I let out a little laugh.
"Well that's why I'm never tardy. Anyways, gotta go. Catch ya later!" Jack gave me a little wave and walked down the corridor.
I walked into the office to see a brunette lady blowing into a tissue. This must be her. I stood there for a moment, she didn't seem to notice me standing there. She was staring at some picture on her laptop and sobbing. I noticed her name tag on her lanyard said Wendy Taverns.
After a few seconds, I cleared my throat. She looked up, surprised. She quickly shut her laptop and wiped her face with a Kleenex. She forced a huge smile.
"How may I help you?" she blinked frantically.
"Uhh..I'm Tay Jardine, I'm new here."
She nodded and turned around in her chair, digging out files. Soon, she handed me my schedule. I nodded my head in thanks, then headed out into the corridor.

Awesome, now to find my homeroom..
I looked up, seeing Jack by his locker, laughing with three other guys. Two of them were quite built/muscular-like, one of them more-so than the other. The other guy flashed a smile to the guys and waved, walking off to class. He was pretty cute, I must say. I decided to walk over and ask for directions; I usually wouldn't because I'd be too anxious, but I think I've grown comfortable with Jack. He saw me coming and flashed me a big smile.
"Heeey! I see you've got your schedule, lemme see!" he said, taking the paper out of my hands. The other two guys hovered around it, reading the classes intently.
"Ahhh! You've got Gilbert for homeroom! You've got it with Rian, he'll take ya there." Jack gestured to the guy with the buzz cut. He flashed me an almost blinding smile.
"And you've got English with me and Zack." Jack continued. So that's what the other one's name is.
"We all have Music together, how rad." he smiled.
"Annnnd we have exactly...40 seconds before the late bell." Zack informed us, checking his watch.
"Well, shit. See ya later!" Jack waved, and we all parted ways, except for me following Rian to homeroom.

We entered the classroom about 5 seconds before the bell rang, and Rian took his seat on the far left side of the room. I looked around at the people in their seats, not knowing what to do.
"Oh, hello! You must be Taylor." the bald man who I assumed to be Mr. Gilbert, greeted me.
"Tay." I answered shortly, my anxiety levels were rising, as I noticed the class went silent, all eyes were on me.
"Welcome! Class, this is Tay Jardine, she's new here! Please make her feel welcome! Tay..please take a seat right there next to Hayley." he pointed to a girl with bright orange hair and colorful makeup. She gave me a big smile as I walked over and sat in the empty seat next to her.
"Hi, Tay! I'm Hayley! How are you? I love your hair! Where'd you move here from?" she excitedly shot at me with questions.
I blinked a few times, then awkwardly turned to her and told her I was from New York.
"Ohhh! NEW YORK! I've never been there before, but I've always wanted to!" she exclaimed.
I just smiled and nodded at her, then sat awkwardly till the next bell summoned us to go to our next class.
The morning went on pretty much the same. I got plenty of awkward introductions at the beginning of class, one to which Jack answered a "HEY TAY TAY!!"
My palms were sweating like a bitch, and I really didn't wanna go through this again. I walked into Algebra, and soon enough, I was stuck at the front of the class awkwardly staring at the ground as the teacher introduced me. She pointed at a seat for me to sit in, and I looked up, biting my lip as a nervous habit. I saw the boy who was laughing with the guys earlier. We made eye contact, then I quickly looked back down at the floor and walked to the seat. I sat down, keeping my head down, trying to not think about all the eyes around me, burning into my soul.
That's when I heard the boy speak.
"Hi, I'm Alex."
