Kiss Me Again

The next morning, I sat in homeroom thinking about the party for Alex that was going to happen the day after tomorrow.
What was I going to wear??
Oh my gosh- what should I get him?!?
It was all just too overwhelming! I just NEED Alex to love what I get him.
I just have this sudden need to feel accepted by him. It'll be his BIRTHDAY!
My palms started to get sweaty as I became super anxious over the party.
Just then, Hayley sat down in her usual seat, next to me.
"Hey! What's up, buttercup?" she smiled my way.
"H-Hayley.." I hesitated.
"I um...I need your help."
She beamed at that. "OH, SURE! I'LL BE GLAD TO HELP! What is it??"
"I-I'm uh.." I cleared my throat.
"You know..the guys are having a party for Gaskarth-"
"OMG YESSS!! The party for his birthday on Friday at Zack's place! It's gonna be so rad!!"
"Wait..you're going?"
"Of COURSE I'm going, silly rabbit!" she said as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. I didn't know she knew Alex that well.
"Basically, the whole SCHOOL'S going!!"
Oh, well that explains it.
"The whole school??"
"Like, heck yeah! Zack throws only the most HOTTEST, most GRANDEST parties every year. Get this- last year, they even had some college students come and join the party. They brought weed."
"Seriously?" His parties sound completely insane.
"Seriously. That resulted in a bunch of noise complaints from neighbors, and the cops got involved."
"Whoa."
"Yes, whoa. All you could see were a bunch of drunken teenagers running down the street."
We both cracked up a little at that.
"But didn't Zack get in trouble for that?"
"Not really, I mean his parents had to pay a fine, but they were cool about it, they're basically rich. He got off with a warning."
Well, Zack lives an awesome life. Now back to Alex..
"So, Hayley. I'm a little bit worried.."
"Worried? About the party? Why?" she gave me a puzzled look.
I took a deep breath, knowing she was going to freak out after I told her.
"I-don't-know-what-to-wear-and-I'm-not-sure-what-to-get-Alex-for-his-birthday-but-I-want-it-to-be-special-because-he's-kinda-special-to-me-and-no-that-doesn't-mean-I-like-him!" I stopped for air.
Considering that fact that she's a really hyper girl, and normally talks at that pace when she's excited about something, she understood what I said completely and squealed.
"OH MY GODDDD!! THIS IS SOOO CUTE! YOU'RE WORRIED ABOUT WHAT ALEX WILL THINK! YOU LOOOVVVE HIM!" she practically yelled.
"Hayley, oh my God! Keep it down!" I whisper-screamed to her.
I looked around to see people giving us weird looks. I saw Rian in his seat in the back corner with his arms crossed, giving me a smirk, then turning back to look at the window.
Now he was probably gonna tell Alex.
Great. Just great.
"Oops, sorry!" Hayley giggled. Then she continued.
"I was planning on going shopping for something to wear at the party later on, you should come with! We can go hit the mall after school!"
I nodded.
"Okay, that sounds cool. But I still don't know what I should get him for his birthday."
I feel so frustrated.
I have absolutely NO idea what he would want.
Hayley paused and thought for a second.
"Well, what does he like?"
"Um..um...I don't know. All I know is that he's an incredibly happy guy who sings..and writes songs."
"Sooo..MUSIC! Get him music! We'll hit Hot Topic and you can get him a bunch of cds and t-shirts and shit."
Oh my God. Why didn't I think of that??
I internally smacked myself on the head.
"Hayley! You're a genius!"
"So I've been told." she grinned.

After class, I realized that I didn't really know what kind of music Alex liked. Luckily, I could ask him when he was standing outside the classroom.
"Hey." he smiled at me.
"Hey, so I was wondering something..." I tried not to make it seem obvious that I needed gift ideas for him.
"I wanna see how alike we are. What are your favorite bands?"
He put on a thinking face, twisting his mouth to the side and looking up at the ceiling.
"Hmm...I love Blink and Green Day. Jimmy Eat World and Of Mice and Men are pretty good too. Along with Yellowcard and Mayday."
I was actually a bit surprised, we seemed to like the same music.
I raised my eyebrows, and he did the same.
"Are we similar enough?" he smirked.
I laughed a bit then smirked back.
"We're like two peas in a pod."

After school, I met up with Hayley to go shopping for the party.
I just drove us straight to the mall from school, since Hayley didn't have a car, and she just walked to school everyday since she lives right down the street. Which..makes it hard to explain why she's always late to school everyday.. Whatever.
She spoke on the car ride there.
"OMG this is going to be THE party of the YEAR!" Hayley cheered, tapping her fingers on the dashboard in excitement.
"Is Alex like- a party animal?" I kinda wanted to know what kind of drunk he was. Is he the type to get horny? Or sad? Crazy? I just want to know what to expect. Being the well-known guy he is, of course he must be an entertainer.
"Oh, Alex?! He's insane."
"I-insane??"
"Insanely hooottt!!" she laughed.
"What do you mean?"
"I meeeaaan, he's like a sex machine. He always ends up shirtless one way or another, and girls are always all over him."
Sooo...horny.
"He also always like, performs a song. Everyone loves it. It even attracts more sluts."
"I bet.."
"OOOHH!! I remember at one of last year's parties, we all played spin the bottle, and- you know Lisa Ruocco?"
"Lisa Ruocco?" She sounded familiar, but I don't really know my faces that well yet.
"Yeah! You know..light brown hair with the blonde streaks in it? Cheerleader? School slut? Ring a bell?"
Suddenly, an image of her came into mind.
She would always give me dirty looks when I would walk down the hall sometimes with Alex. I noticed her from a distance sometimes, she was always hungrily staring at him.
"Yeah..what about her?"
"WELL. She spun the bottle and to her luck, it landed on Alex. She totally like, got all over him-"
"All over him?"
"Yeah, she like got in his lap and grabbed his face and like, they had this rough make out session for like 3 minutes straight, barely coming up for air."
I'll admit, hearing this made me kinda jealous. I don't know why, but it just..DID.
"Alex and Lisa never became like..OFFICIAL, but since that party, Lisa's been like really attached to Alex and will do ANYTHING to get him. But it's like, he's not that interested, ya know?"
So that explains it. I'm in her way of getting to Alex. This made me a little..angered.
Hayley smirked at me. "So, she's like..a total threat."
"Hell yeah, she is!" I blurted, then quickly covered my mouth with my hand that wasn't steering.
"I mean- she isn't. Because..I don't care. So uh..she can have him."
Hayley gave me a worried look.
"W-what?" I asked her in confusion.
"You like him."
"I do not."
Hayley just sighed, and turned her gaze back to the road. We sat in silence for the rest of the ride there.
Okay, I'm NOT saying I like him..but..I just have these feelings for him..I'm NOT saying I want to date him or anything but..I just feel like I want him to be Mine.
And ONLY mine.

Hey, I don't think I updated yesterday.
I'm gonna put up another chapter before the party happens.
I feel like if I added all of this scene in here, it would be way too long.
