We'll Be A Legend Tonight

I Don't Believe A Word You Say But I Can't Stop Listening

"Hey, you going to that party tonight?" Vin asked me, handing a girl the shirt she just bought.
"Yeah, probably. I'm not one to miss a party." I replied. "Why?"
"I was just wondering. Parties are usually much more interesting if you're attending." He laughed.
I laughed too. "I'll be there."
"Working hard or hardly working?" Rian asked as the guys came through for their usual signing.
"Very, very original. So clever." I said to him.
"Thanks. I'm the smart one in the band, you know." He grinned.
"I actually think Alex is the smart one." Vinny interjected.
"Alex acts like he's the smart one but he never actually knows what the hell he's talking about." I said.
"Right. That's pretty true. Can we just conclude that none of you guys are all that smart?" Vinny laughed.
"Why do we even employ you two?" Alex asked sadly.
"You don't employ us, Matt does." I said. "Now get! You've got a signing to do!"
"I like when you boss me around." Jack said, winking as he left.
"Looks like you've reeled in a Jack Barakat. Are you going to keep him or throw him back?" Vinny asked, smirking at me.
"I've been asking myself the same question." I sighed.
**
"What time does this party start?" I asked Alex as he walked out the door.
"I'd say be there at about. . . turn up time." Alex replied.
"What?" I asked desperately as he left. "What does that even mean?"
"Aren't you ready yet? Jesus." Jack said, coming onto the bus.
"I had to work late, asshole. It was my turn to do inventory today." I said. "And I'm almost ready."
"I might as well wait for you. I'm practically an angel, Chloe. You don't deserve me." He said.
"Shut up, Jack."
"Have I ever mentioned how much your sass puts me in the mood?" He asked as I put my shoes on.
"On several occasions actually." I laughed. "Come on, let's go. Did you know that everyone thinks we're fucking?"
"You know, I heard the same thing today from Parker Cannon! What a strange rumor." Jack said. "I mean, we could always make it so that it's the truth. . ."
"You're very forward tonight." I remarked as we walked in the darkness.
"I'm always forward." He said. "I'm Jack Barakat."
"You make a very good point." I laughed.
"Hey, Jack and Chloe! Funny how we never see you without each other anymore. It's never just Jack or just Chloe. It's Jack and Chloe." Vic Fuentes said once we found everyone.
"You're late." Alex said to me. "It's about a quarter past turn up time."
"What on earth does that even mean?" I asked, still confused.
"It's when it's time to turn up. Duh." Zack said.
"Guys, don't be mean to her. She's a little slow." Jack said, his last sentence in a whisper.
"I'm not even going to argue with you. All Time Low against one poor, innocent little girl." I said.
"Little is right. How tall are you, like 4'9?" Rian asked.
"Rian!" I cried. "That's not even funny."
"It's pretty funny." Alex argued.
"Are you guys bullying Chloe again?" Parker asked, coming over and handing drinks both me and Jack.
"Yes." I pouted.
"Chloe, you're the cutest girl in the whole world." Jack said.
"I'm still mad at you." I said.
"You can't stay mad at me, Clo." He laughed.
"I know I can't. You're too cute for your own good." I rolled my eyes.
"Disgusting. They're so cute that it's actually disgusting." Vic said.
"Come on, Clo. Let's go socialize. These losers are killing my vibe." Jack said, lifting me on his shoulders and walking away.
It was a late night, especially considering I had to be up to work at eleven the next morning. I drank more than I should have and that definitely didn't help.
"I don't want to work in the morning." I groaned as Jack and I went back to the bus, slightly sobered up.
"Let's get married." He said, completely serious.
It was too much for my tipsy brain to handle. "Huh?"
"I make tons of money. Let's get married. You can be my girl and you won't have to work. You can just be the girl I come home to." He said.
"Jack," I giggled, "We're not getting married!"
"One day." He said dreamily. "You just wait."
"You're drunk." I shook my head, still laughing.
"Not that drunk." He said. "Not so drunk that I want to kiss you just because you're here."
"Why do you want to kiss me then?" I asked, cocking my head and hopping on the counter.
"I think you know how I feel about you." He said, leaning in and snaking his arm around my waist. Jack touched his lips to mine, slowly at first but then more intensely, more passionately. I put my hand on the back of his neck and wrapped my legs around his waist, closing the distance between us.
"Jesus! Oh my god!" Alex yelled, ruining the moment. He shielded his eyes as he came onto the bus. "Keep it PG! Oh my god!"
Jack laughed, running his fingers through his hair. "It's okay, Alex. You can open your eyes now."
"I don't trust you." Alex mumbled.
"It's fine, Alex." I said, trying not to laugh.
"I'm going to take a shower." He said, opening his eyes. "Don't be naked when I get out, you little horndogs."
Jack and I burst out laughing as he shut the bathroom door. "We need to go to bed. We have to be up early tomorrow." He said.
I nodded, crawling in my bunk. "Night, Jack."
"Night, Clo."
