~Jack's POV~

"I love the rain." Alex stated, whilst his legs swung on the branch of our oak tree. Today was a miserable day, the drizzle of rain just wouldn't stop, but Alex wanted to come out here so we did. I was sat next to Lex, one arm wrapped around him tightly, and the other clutching an umbrella. I know we were under a tree most of the rain was kept off of us, but I wanted to stay totally dry.

"Why?" I asked.

"It's just so peaceful, and relaxing. My mind always wanders when it's raining, it's just so interesting." Lex stared off into the distance.

"I can't stand the rain, but is like how you think of it. I agree with what you're saying." I smiled, staring at the beautiful boy.

He turned to look at me. "I love you, Jack Barakat."

"I love you too, Alexander Gaskarth." I leaned in and we both shared a kiss. It was simple and innocent, yet it felt so passionate and loving. These were the moments I lived for.

"Do you want to come back to mine so we can snuggle? I heard there's some new episodes of Adventure Time on Netflix, and I could really do with a hot chocolate." Alex said looking at me through his fringe.

"I would love to. Come on." I hopped down from the tree, with Lex following. When I reached the floor, I put the umbrella down and turned to Alex so I could pick him from the last branch and twirl him around.

"Jack! Put me down!" He squealed.

"No." I giggled, just spinning faster. Before I knew it, I was lying on the soggy grass, feeling dizzy, with Alex on top of me.

"See, I told you to put me down, now you're all wet." Alex laughed, kissing my nose.

"Shut up, I was trying to be romantic. You know, twirling around in the rain and all that shit. You always see it on films." I said, acting defensive.

"I know you were. Come on, your back is going to be soaked." He stood up, and offered out his hand. I took it and he pulled me up, and brushed off the grass that had attached to my shirt.

"Let's go, I think you need a shower." Alex started walking, wrapping his arm around my waist and burying his face into my side.

"Care to join me?"

"Of course."

We continued on our usual path home, until we decided to take a different road after Starbucks. I really wanted to get home and Alex said that this way would be quicker. I spotted a person who looked quite familiar in the distance, but just ignored him. I knew a lot of people in Baltimore, it could be anyone.

"Jack?"

"Hmm?"

"Is that.. Is that John?" Alex pointed to the figure walking in front of us, his voice sounding slightly panicked.

"Oh my god. Fuck. Lex, stay here and call 911." I said, as I started to run towards the man. It was definitely him. Alex shouted after me, but I didn't stop. How did that bastard have the nerve to show his face around here, after what he did? He was disgusting.

"Hey!" I shouted, grabbing John's attention. He turned around to face me fully before showing a look of horror and running. God, he was fast. I kept shouting after him, but he didn't stop or turn around. I chased him a good few blocks until he ran down a side path and jumped into a car that sped off immediately.

"Fuck." I cursed. How did I let him get away? He almost killed my mom, and that was probably my only chance to confront him, just us 2, no cops. I started heading back to Alex hurriedly but found him just around the corner, panting. He'd ran after me.

"Did you call the police?" I asked.

"Yeah, did you get him?"

"No, he got into a car. I'm such a fucking failure, Lex." I leaned against a wall and sunk down to the floor, my head in my hands.

"Hey, don't say that, you're not a failure. You're far from it." Lex sat down next to me, rubbing my back. "John's a clever man, he obviously had a car waiting incase something like this happened. It's not your fault. The cops will get him."
I sniffled and wiped my nose. "I know, I'm just being stupid." I stood up. "Do we have to wait for the cops?"
"Yeah, we need to wait here, but when they're done questioning, we can go home." Alex reassured me.

"Okay. I'm sorry, but I think that shower is going to have to wait. We can still cuddle though?" I asked, hugging my perfect boyfriend.

"We can do whatever you want."

Hey, sorry if this chapters quite short, I've got really bad writers block, and I wanted to include something before valentines day :)

are you guys watching the AP Awards tonight? Do you think ATL will win some awards? I'm super excited for it, I'm watching the live stream :D
