Inflicted

The painful past

“ Don’t sleep next to me again! ” Alex yelled kicking Jack when he woke up the next morning.

“ Hey! You should thank me! You would have been kidnapped if I left you alone on the bus!” Jack yelled with a scoff.

“ Sorry.” Alex mumbled standing up.

The elder of the two stood up and rubbed his back before entering the kitchen. Alex trailed behind and watched as Jack poured himself a glass of water. He looked up and saw Jack's hand holding another glass.

“ Thanks.” Alex said gulping the water down.

“ you should go to the hospital.” Alex looked up and furrowed his eyebrows in confusion.

“ Why should I go to the doctor?” Alex found himself asking.

“ You are way over normal temperature. You started coughing out blood and repeatedly threw up last night.” he confessed shocking the younger.

“ Really?”Jack nodded.

“ I’ll go then. “ he stood up and Jack grabbed his hand. “ I can accompany you. Is that okay?”

Alex surprisingly nodded and drank some more water before changing into some of Jack’s clothes. They were the same size and they didn’t want to waste any time since Alex’s headache seem to be growing worse. The headache seemed to take it’s course as they were in the waiting room. Alex leaned his head on Jack’s shoulder and gripped the elder’s arm holding back the tears. His head was pounding and he was sweating profusely.

Jack held Alex closer and rubbed circles around his back reassuring that everything would be okay. Alex seemed to calm down before his breathing hitched. The nurse called Alex’s name and he didn’t reply. Jack looked down to see Alex passed out. Jack shook Alex and called his name but he still laid unconscious. He carried Alex inside and laid him on the hospital bed. He walked out and waited as the doctors examined him praying and hoping the boy was okay.

New line

Alex woke up to an intense light. After his eyes fluttered open he realized that he was in front of his old house. The ten year old him running around the yard with his younger brother. He remembered that day very clearly. The day his brother lost his life because of him.

“ Ya! Don’t run around, okay? I’ll be right back.” Alex said as the house’s phone rang.

“ Okay hyung.” Matt replied. Alex nodded and ran inside the house on the last ring. Matt continued waiting for Alex when a rabbit hopped out of no where. Matt smiled and stood up. He started chasing the rabbit around and ended up on the street. Alex walked out just as a car zoomed down the street.

“ Matt, what are you doing? Get off the road!”

“ Oh Alex! Look.” Daehun looked up and smiled at Sehun just as the car crushed his fragile body.

“ Matt!” Sehun cried as he held his brother’s body in his arms. The younger smiled and wiped Sehun’s tears before smiling.

“ I’m okay. Don’t cry. I love you Lex” Matt reassured.

Those words were the last Mat had said to him. He lost his brother at the age of 10. He remembered being punished for beating the crap out of the driver. He remembers the disgusting smirk on that bastards face when they set him free claiming that Matt should have been more careful. That’s when Alex lost all respect and trust in people and the world.

No one ever called him Lex since that was Matt's nickname except for Jack and he liked that for some reason. He liked how the word rolled off Jack’s tongue. Alex seemed to like a lot of things about Jongin when he knew he shouldn’t.
