Mackenzie's POV


Autumn finally came and the leaves are starting to fall. It was that time of the year again. It was chilly, but dad and I always do this on the first Saturday of Autumn. Therefore, I put on my best sweater with a scarf and a pair of jeans. I was going to meet a really special someone. I went out of my bedroom and immediately went to the staircase.

“Ready?” I asked dad from the top of the staircase.

“Ready.” Dad said with a small smile

I went down and we went to the graveyard mom was buried. We sat down on the exact spot she was buried. We do this every year. Just talk about the things that happened for the past year.

I know it sounds pretty peculiar that I like talking to my mom when she’s actually gone, but I still believe that she’s watching over me. Other than actually having a conversation with mom, dad usually talks more than he normally does and that makes me happy.

It’s always a sad moment being here. Mostly because she’s not literally here, but I’m happy we do this every year. It’s just one of those moments when it’s not just dad and me. I seriously love dad to death, but these moments are the ones that makes us feel closer as a family.

Zack's POV


Ever since she died, Mackenzie has been my life. Besides music and my bros she’s the reason why life never gets boring. Yes, we may have had some ups and downs, but boy, do I love her to death.

I look at her. My beautiful girl, I will always love her. My little girl is growing up and that kinda upsets me. What happened to the little pigtails and teddy bears?

“She’s doing really well,” I thought, trying to send the thought to my late wife. “I’m so proud of her and I hope you are too.” I thought one last time.

I hugged my little girl and kissed her head causing her to smile. Please don’t grow up too fast.
