Bucket list

Tied up on the hospital bed, Erin could feel her head getting dizzy and her sight getting blurred. Tears rolled down her cheeks as she tried to scream but her body was to weak to release a sound. Her heart rate decreased and she tried to use all her energy to grip hold of anything around her in an attempt to cling on to her life. But it was no use. She slowly lost feeling in her body, starting with her fingers before the sensation travelled through her arms and into her heart, numbing every vein and muscle in its path. Her eyes began to flutter shut and she saw glimpses of her life, her childhood, her parents, her Alex... Alex....

'ALEX!'

Erin jolted upright in her bed, feeling a mixture of tears and sweat on her face. She turned to her side to see a sleeping Lex, and she soon realised she had just been having a nightmare. Not wanting to wake him from his slumber, she got out of bed and went downstairs, despite it only being 4:36 AM.
