Memories That Fade Like Photographs
What This Means To Me
I had been wandering around my old town, looking at the places I used to go to. I even went to the spot where me and Jack had our first date. I missed him, but since my phone broke I lost all connection with him. I had never been more angry at myself then I was the day my phone dropped out of my pocket in the middle of a cross walk. It had been completely smashed beyond repair and we had to buy a new one. I lost all my contacts, including Jack’s.
When I moved back here about a month ago, I had gone straight to Jack’s old house. I honestly don’t know what made me think they would still be there, I guess hope? I wasted it on that though. I pulled into their driveway and the neighbor said that they had moved a while ago. I had asked if they knew anything about Jack but they didn't.
Today I was just walking around again, holding a cup of coffee in my hand. There were new stores here, must have been put in after I left. One that really caught my eye though was a music store. I wonder if they have any Blink in there. I decided to give it the benefit of the doubt and go in. As I headed towards it I saw two girls walking out. As they passed I noticed the blonde one looked as red as the second girls hair. First thing I saw when I walked in was the amazingly hot boy behind the counter with his face in a book.
I moved around until I found what I was looking for. Hell yeah, Blink! I began to look through it, glancing at the hot cashier, only to notice him glancing at me too and reaching for an acoustic guitar behind him. Oh no way in living hell does this guy play. Sure enough, he began to play a song, Blink’s song First Date to be exact. I couldn't help but smile as I grabbed a couple CD’s then went and stood in front of him. He seemed so lost in the music that I didn't want to disturb him, I also liked listening to him play.
“Blink-182, First Date. Nice song man, you’re pretty good." I commented when he was finished.
His dark chocolate eyes met mine and I swear I could get lost in them. Yet, I felt like I knew them from somewhere. I wasn't going to say anything until he pointed it out. Oh god his voice. I made a sarcastic remark to which he just smirked at, making me laugh a bit.
“N-No, I’m being serious.”
That stutter, how hot he is, his voice, and him not looking me in the eyes. God where do I know this boy from??
“I feel like we've met somewhere before too.” I said back, not wanting to make him feel crazy.
He stuttered again, mumbling something I couldn't understand and began to ring me up. I paid and he handed me my stuff, yet I didn’t really want to leave without at least getting to know his name. Almost as if the universe had heard my thoughts, a man came out of the back room.
“Jack, We need--” I stopped listening then. Wait, Jack? Jack?! There is no way, no possible way! Was there?? He started to get pulled away by the man who I guessed was his boss.
“W-Wait, Jack?”
If it was really him, I couldn't just let him slip away again. He looked back and gave me a confused look before the door closed behind him. I stood there in the empty store, just staring at the door he went through. No way, could it be? I left, only to stop outside the store and look back in. I checked the closing time and wrote it on my hand with a pen before going across the street to the new book store.
I’m going to find out.
