The next day we got up early and drove up the coast again to do the video shoot.
It was just Vic, Mike and me in the car the other two would drive up by themselves.

Mike was driving while Vic sat in the passenger seat practically turned around all of the journey to talk to me who was sitting in the back.
"It should not take longer than half a day because we are only shooting part of the scenes for the new song 'King for a day' that features Kellin, but as he is still on tour we decided to do the performance scenes where he does not take part today so that when he has time we can do the other parts really fast."
We have this awesome story though of us robbing a bank and stuff, you would like it, but sadly these scenes are not on today.
You will meet the team and we have this cool director Drew Russ." Vic is so sweet he is all excited and practically can't stop talking.

I am excited too because I have never been to something like that and I have no idea how it will be.
When we arrive I am a bit disappointed I had imagined a huge Hollywood sized studio and a shit load of people, but I suppose it doesn't work like that for music videos.

The set is small and the team is as well but they are all very nice and chilled which is cool. They don't have a problem that I came along and I even get a chair placed beside the director to be able to watch it all.

When Tony and Jaime arrive they all are getting made camera ready, this is funny as I have never seen the guys getting powdered and brushed and stuff. I can't stop teasing them and they glare at me and Mike flips me off while a girl straightens his hair. Priceless!

Then they start to shoot the scenes, but there is always something wrong, though the assistant tells me that this is absolutely normal.

Tony comes up. "Easy, they say my shirt makes a side boob. But I do want to wear it."

"I love this shirt, why don't you let them tape it up to make it tighter, why does it even make a boob? Have you been loosing weight? You should really stop eating vegan, that diet just does not work with a touring schedule." I probably sound like his mom.

Next Jaime calls me "Easy, can you please untangle these cables running down my back, I'm freaking out here." I help him.

"Easy," Mike calls from behind the drums "can you get my drum sticks I left them in the car, I broke these ones." He holds up half a stick.
"God, Mike they haven't even started yet, what are you doing there?" I say turning around to get them for him.

When I get back I see Vic stumble over the cables on the floor for like the third time.
"Vic is wasted it's only nine am right now." Tony comments into the camera. I start laughing.

"Why don't you tape the cables out to the front so you have more room to move?" I ask and that's the solution.

After they are all finally ready to go, I sit down in my chair to watch. Still they have to do every take for like ten times but now everything runs smoothly. And a couple of hours later they're done.

When we say goodbye to the team Drew comes up to me. "Easy, that's your name right?"

"Yeah, kind of" I say looking surprised, he hadn't really talked to me the whole day.

"I noticed how the band responds to you, I mean we have a handful of assistants here today but they all turned to you first."

"Oh I guess we just know each other better. So they don't have a problem asking me for help." I shrug.

"I think, you have a way with people and you can relax and handle rock stars really well, that is often not so easy. Your suggestions work and that is worth a lot when you have limited time. So if you ever look for a job, I would like to have you in my team" he hands me his card. "Call me." He says before he walks away.

"Wow, thanks, I mean, I will, awesome" I stutter but he has already started to organise the wrap up and talks to his camera man.

We say goodbye to Tony and Jaime and drive back to San Diego where Mike drops us off at their place before driving to see his girlfriend.

"How about we take a shower and then just have a relaxed evening on the couch" Vic suggests as we enter his house.

"Sounds great, I'm tired and would like to just chill out, although I didn't really do anything today. " I sigh kicking the shoes off my feet.
"There is just one question. Together or separate? The shower, I mean." I say in a fake flirty voice.

I have to duck because Vic is trying to hit me with the newspaper he just got out of his post box. And he chases me up the stairs slapping my bum.

When I come back down after my shower he already poured us two glasses of red wine and pats the spot beside him on the couch.
"Come here and tell me what's going on in your mind. I can feel you're sad. What is troubling you, Easy, you know I like to help."

I sit down take my glass look into the deep red liquid that I swirl around and sigh. "Vic, I am not sure myself, I just feel so lost and lonely recently, I can't even recall the reasons I came here in the first place, I have no job, no perspective, nothing. I am thinking I should maybe just go back to Australia and close this chapter."

"Oh Easy," he sounds very emotional. "please don't. You have no idea how many people's lives you have touched and we would all miss you so much. I have the feeling the answer is waiting out there for you. You have such an amazing talent with people, you should use that.
I have talked to Keri Lee about you. She is managing director of Warped tour and she had heard about the bus girl and said when you are back in LA you should call her, she could use somebody like you as event planner.
But it is not about getting a job, you would have no problem with that. It is about your friends here, I know for a fact that there are people that would just carry you straight back to the States if you would decide to leave." He puts his arm around my shoulder and I rest my head against chest.

"I don't know, Vic. I am not so sure about that. But my mood has improved a lot since I have been visiting you guys. Thank you for your friendship and thank you that I can be here." I hug him.

He starts laughing. "Easy, you are incredible, you don't have to thank me, I am glad you are here and I am proud to be your friend. Don't you know that?"
