The First Time

Emma’s POV

I was at my apartment eating ice cream on my couch. I decided to call Kate. I miss her. I haven’t seen her in a while.

I dialed her number and she picked up. Excited to hear her voice, I shouted her name. She shouted my name back. I felt like we were a couple of weirdos, but I really miss her.

“How are you?” I asked excited

“I’m fine! You know, Joe’s got a girl in New York. She’s a sweetheart.”

“Go Joe! Have you met her?”

“Yeah, when I visited him last month.”

“Nice! I’ll be visiting you in Baltimore when Joe is also going which is probably this Christmas. So get ready for some crazy sibling reunion.” I heard her laughed

“Joe misses you. Have you visited him yet?”

“No, school has been really crazy, so I’ll be seeing him on Christmas. I miss you guys.”

“I miss you too… Anyways how’s life?”

“Well for starters, I got an intern job! Life’s been pretty exciting and heartbreaking.”

“That’s awesome! Aww, was there a guy?”

“Uhm well, no one new, but someone dear to me.”

“Zack? I thought he was a superstar by now.”

“He is, but I encountered him again.”

“Wait, what? How did that happen?”

“He is touring right now and he had an accident while performing. He was brought to the hospital and the impact wasn’t critical, so they trusted me to treat him. We talked and I said some things I regretted. I miss him and I still love him, but my brain is telling me to not even think about him.”

“Oh sweetie..”

“I don’t know what to do. I can’t really move on. I still have feelings for him.”

“Well Emma, if you really care about him make it right with him. Fix whatever there is.”

“You’re right.. And Kate, can you please stay on the line with me for a while?”

“Sure. Anything for you.”
