The First Time

Emma’s POV

After I looked down, I felt weird. I can’t believe the hot guy sitting in the back actually looked at me. Suddenly, after wandering off again, Ms. Blanchard asked me to sit next to the hot guy before. He looked quiet, so I thought why not.

I walked to the chair and put my backpack down. I sat quietly and took my pen and notebook. It was really awkward for me. I stayed quiet for 5 minutes and listened to Ms. Blanchard. Turns out, some of us would be auditioning for “The Winter’s Tale”. It seemed pretty cool. Suddenly, when I was taking notes down, he poked me and said,

“Hi, I’m Zack Merrick. You’re Emma right?”

Oh God I was so nervous, but I knew it was rude to stay quiet so I replied,

“Nice to meet you Zack and yes, my name is Emma.”

We didn’t talk after that, but sometimes I keep on looking at him and every time I did, he smiled back. His smile makes me happy. He has the sweetest smile.

Zack’s POV

Oh shit, Ms. Blanchard just asked her to sit next to me. This will be awkward. I mean, I looked at her for quite some time when she was introducing herself. There she is, putting her backpack and taking out her pen and notebook. Her notebook had a smiling pancake at the cover. It was cute.

It’s been awkward for me because we both stayed quiet. I told myself to man up and thank God, I did. I said,

“Hi, I’m Zack Merrick. You’re Emma right?”

I hope that came out right. Don’t want her to think I am a weirdo on her first day of school. I am so relieved the guys aren’t here. If they were, I would’ve seemed to be the most ridiculous guy on Earth.

“Nice to meet you Zack and yes, I am Emma,” She replied.

We didn’t talk that much, but sometimes she keeps on looking at me. I usually smile back and every time she looks at me again all I could see were her glowing blue-grey eyes. Her hair was taken care of as well and I could see there were no tattoos. She didn’t wear a lot of make up and she looked sweet in her checkered shirt.
