Jack
The next day, Jack basically spent all his time at home before he had to leave for work with trying to calm Alex down. He tried many things; milk with honey, visualization of a nice beach, telling him that everything would be alright, cuddling and he even tried getting Alex to make out but it all didn’t really work, even if Alex did calm down for a little. The anxiety would just return later.
When Jack left, he felt really bad about it all. He wanted nothing more than staying at home with Alex to help him. He promised Alex he would come during lunch break though, which was not too long before Alex’s appointment.
The morning at work dragged on even if his co-workers were funny as always. When it was finally 12 pm, Jack basically stormed out of the building and home. Alex was looking a bit better than he had in the morning; he appeared to have showered and he was wearing a button down (his pants were missing though). Jack strode up to him and kissed him hello.
“Jack, I’m not… supposed to do that,” Alex said hesitantly. He blushed.
“Nobody has to know,” Jack said quietly with a smirk and a wink.
“Someone might find out,” Alex worried.
“It’ll all be okay,” Jack soothed him, nudging his cheek with his nose.
“I just hope so…” Alex sighed. “But on the bright side, I made us lunch,” he said as he led Jack to the table. On it was delicious-looking lasagne.
“Mhm, thank you babe,” Jack said with a smile.
“Bon apetit!”
After they had eaten, Jack still had a bit of time on his hands while Alex had to leave. He kissed the older, caramel-haired boy goodbye and whispered one last “good luck”.
He decided to check the mail. Alex… Alex… Alex… oh, that one was for him. Alex usually got Jack’s mail from his old place when he was on one of his runs and he had done so again today.
He looked at it more closely and turns out, it was from court. Jack started to tremble slightly. He opened it quickly, took out the letter and started to read.
Matthew Flyzik… domestic violence… taken by police force… has been active cooperatively and nice… Jack Barakat… court date… lawyer…
Jack was feeling sick. Of course, Matt that fucker had been acting like the nicest guy on the planet. He knew better. He snorted. He just hoped the prison people didn’t believe his act.
Jack was suddenly starting to feel angry; all the anger that had accumulated over the past years with Matt now wanted its way out and it would force its way out if it had to. Jack preferred to let it out voluntarily. He paced around a bit, frantically looking around himself before grabbing an empty jar and smashing it on the ground with a loud scream. He got hold of some newspaper and tore it apart while screaming too. He punched a pillow and when he accidentally punched it out of his reach, he just punched the wall. He didn’t even feel the pain.
After quite a bit of screaming, demolishing things and punching the wall, he collapsed on the sofa, crying. He was exhausted but he felt so much better, like he finally had let an animal out of its cage.
He stayed on the sofa for a bit but then he had to force himself to leave, since he needed to be at work. He was in a hurry to get there, so he had no time to clean up. He opted for writing a short note to Alex.
“I was a little angry at Matt. I’ll clean up when I’m home, I just don’t have the time for it now! –Jack”
Then he left and took the letter with him.
