I Will Go (Jack)
Jack
Jack got up on time; his alarm rang at 7.30 am. Since it was Sunday, he was able to get up a bit later than usually although he knew Matt might have a problem with it. He rolled out of the bed and got dressed, picking a V-neck and his usual hoodie. He made sure the hoodie covered yesterday’s bruises well before putting on his jeans. He winced at the pressure on his bruises when he accidentally pressed his wrist too hard against his leg.
He prepared breakfast and then made sure everything was alright, sweeping the floor and getting the newspaper. He was folding some laundry when Matt came downstairs. Instantly, a spark of fear came up in Jack’s eyes but he smiled anyways, as always.
“Hi Matt,” he chirped. Matt just grumbled something in response. He was wearing lazy clothing, jogging pants and an oversized tee. He trotted to the table and slumped down in his seat, munching away almost instantly.
Jack stayed with him. He wanted to ask whether he could go on a walk; he was hoping he would meet or at least see that priest since he seemed very interesting. He was scared of Matt’s reaction though. And he was right to be.
“Matt?”
“Yeah?” Matt mumbled.
“I was wondering whether I could go for a walk? Just through the neighbourhood,” Jack said as breezily as possible.
“Why that?” Matt looked up.
“I wanted to get some sun on my face,” Jack replied quickly. Maybe it was the quickness of his response. Maybe it were his eyes widened in fear. Maybe it was the slight trembling he had. But Matt’s eyes got narrow and he looked at him angrily.
“What for?” he spat out.
“I just… maybe I can get to know our neighbours better? And some sun on my face would be nice too,” Jack said.
“You wanna meet other men?” Matt seemed to get enraged. “You ain’t meeting others. You’re mine!” To emphasise that, he pulled Jack into him and forcefully slammed his lips on Jack’s.
The latter gave up squirming to get free soon; it was pointless to try to escape out of Matt’s steel grip. Finally, he was released. He breathed for a little and rearranged his clothing.
“I just want to see the neighbours, maybe talk a little to Mr and Mrs Anderson,” Jack said, looking up and still trying to sound breezy.
“You ain’t meeting other men,” Matt shouted.
“But Matt-“
“No, you won’t!” Matt screamed.
“I will go for a walk,” Jack said firmly. He didn’t know if the devil was riding him; this was so risky.
“You little slut,” Matt hissed before slapping him and grabbing a fistful of his hair, pulling it. “If you are not home by 12, you got a problem. And have your phone ready at all times.” He slammed Jack back into his seat and left.
Jack got up quickly. He put away all the plates into the dishwasher before quickly leaving the house, taking a bit of money and his phone with him. He closed the door. The tension fell off him. He had two hours left. Two hours of a bit more freedom.
