Guts

I jumped up, pushing Jack off of me and scrambled to grab my towel as he scrambled to get his clothes back on. I wrapped the towel around my waist and he got his pants, minus his boxers, on just as his sister burst through my bedroom door.

She gave us a quizzical glance. I knew we must be a sight to see, me in my towel and Jack shirtless. It also didn’t help that we were both red and panting.

“What’s going on?” May asked looking at both of us.
“Uhh…” I stammered.
“I heard a bang as I was getting dressed and came to check on Alex. It turns out he had fallen. You know, typical clumsy Alex.”
May gave us one more look and laughed. “That does seem like an Alex thing. Are you okay?”
“Yeah, I think my pride is hurt more than anything.” I mumbled causing her to laugh more.
“Well hurry up and put some clothes on and come see Elaina.” She told us as she left the room.

I let out a breath I didn’t know I was holding and turned to Jack who burst out in laughter.
“That wasn’t funny.” I scalded him causing him to laugh more. He slapped my ass and gave me a kiss on the cheek, “Hurry and get ready.” He said as he skipped out of the room to grab another shirt.

I closed the door and threw on a pair of sweats and grabbed Jack’s shirt off the floor and put it on just to fuck with him. I brushed my hair out and headed downstairs where I could hear Jack cooing to his niece and his mom and sister laughing. I walked down the stairs and his mom smiled at me and gave me a hug.

“Alex! I missed you, how are you?” she asked me as I sat next to her on the couch.
“I’m good. Glad to have a bit of a break and unwind.” I told her honestly. She nodded her head and went back to watching Jack play with Elaina. A few minutes later there was another knock on the door and Jack’s brother, Joe, came in.
“Jack! Alex! I miss you assholes!” he said causing May to glare at him.
“Watch your language in front of your niece!”
“Can’t even talk. She has no idea what the hell I’m even saying.” Joe said, making a funny face at his niece and causing her to laugh.

May rolled her eyes and Jack stood up. “Okay well since you guys are all here now Alex and I have something to tell you.” He said looking to me for support. I stood up and moved next to him. He took a deep breath and took my hand in his. “Alex and I are…” he took another breath and I finished for him, “together.”

May and his mother looked shocked. “What?” his mom asked, “No this can’t be. Jack you aren’t gay.”
“What is this about Jack? Is this about Maria? Is this some way of getting over her?” his sister asked, holding his niece closer to her.

“No. I love Maria but she would have wanted me to be happy and Alex makes me happy. It’s as simple as that.” Jack told them. He was acting brave but he was holding my hand tightly and I could feel him shaking. I gave his hand a squeeze.

“No Jack this is wrong. You shouldn’t be with Alex. You are both guys. This isn’t right.” His mom said, grabbing her purse and standing up.

“Jack until you get yourself fixed, I will not allow you to be around my daughter.” May said standing and turning her back to us.

“She’s my niece; you can’t just keep her from me!” Jack yelled on the verge of tears.
“I will not allow her to be around you until you fix yourself.” She said walking out the door.
“May that’s fucked up and you know it as well as I do.” Joe said standing up and facing his mother and sister. “There is nothing wrong with Jack that he needs to be fixed.”

May and their mother both shot us a final glare and slammed the door. As soon as it shut Jack fell into a crying heap on the floor. I sat down next to him and pulled him into my arms as he cried.

“Jack I have no idea why the fuck they did that but it was wrong of them and they know it.” Joe said sitting next to us. “It shouldn’t matter who you are with unless you both are happy. Are you happy?” he asked looking at both of us.

I nodded and Jack let out a little whimper and nodded.

“Okay then that’s all that matters. They will come around in time. I’m not sure how much time but they will come around.” Joe said patting me on the back and sitting back down on the couch. I continued to hold Jack until the shaking and crying stopped.

He looked up at me with red rimmed eyes and gave me a kiss on the cheek, “Thanks Lex.” I gave him a smile, “Anytime babe.”
Jack looked to his brother, “Thanks Joe. It really means a lot to me that you are okay with this.” Joe nodded and gave his little brother a hug. “You’re still my little brother. Like I said they will come around, just give it time.” Jack nodded and walked Joe to the door.

The rest of our day was spent in silence. We watched some movies and ordered pizza but neither of us talked about the events. I knew Jack was still pretty upset and I didn’t want to make it worse. We headed to bed early.

We went to my room and laid down, this time I was the one holding Jack. I fell asleep with him nestled safely in my arms. Some time throughout the night however I woke up and I was cold and alone.

I got up and searched the house and there was no sight of Jack anywhere. The kitchen cabinets were open and some Jack Daniels was missing. I ran outside and the car was also gone.

Where the hell had he gone?

Okay guys I'm back! I miss ed you! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I am happy cuz I got to go home and eat and eat and eat!!

So Jacks mom and sister didn't take it well but his brother did that's good right Where do you think Jack went? How do you thing Alex's parents will react?
