Guts

I woke up the next morning and Jack wasn’t on the couch with me. I smelled bacon and headed into the kitchen where I found Jack cooking. I think my eyes nearly popped out of my head because he laughed at me. I was even more confused now then I was from the kiss last night. I knew he had been asleep and thinking of Maria, but why did it make me feel the way I did?

I didn’t have much time to think on it because Jack put a plate on the table and made me sit down and eat it. It was actually really good. After we ate Jack told me that he wanted to meet up with the band and discuss some stuff. I agreed because I knew everyone wanted to see him and it was good to get him out of the house.

We agreed to meet up at Taco Bell for lunch. I did the dishes while Jack showered. I could hear him singing from downstairs, he really was in a good mood. It brought a smile to my face; it was good to have Jack coming back to earth. However I couldn’t stop thinking about the kiss. It was literally only a peck, but it stirred so many feelings in me. I had not been kissed since Jasey Rae; I hadn’t even been with any girl since then.

I was so lost in thought I didn’t even hear Jack creep up behind me and scare me. I nearly had a heart attack, he just laughed and I tried to catch my breath. He asked what I was so deep in thought about; I felt my cheeks heating up so I just ran upstairs to take my shower. I took my time in the shower so I didn’t have to face Jack. I really didn’t want him to know about last night. I took my time styling my hair then headed to my room to get some clothes.

As I was picking out my outfit Jack came bursting in complaining that he was hungry and I needed to hurry. I grabbed all black, and just because I could, a pair of off white suspenders. Jack just shook his head and laughed. Well I was going to get the last laugh, I pulled my towel off and rolled it up and snapped him with it before he released what was going on. I got his arm and he let out yelp and I laughed and did it again, this time he was expecting it and grabbed it and yanked it from my hands. He rolled it up and snapped me right on the thigh. I let out a yell and charged him for the towel, completely forgetting I was naked, and tackled him.

Once I realized what I had done I quickly jumped up and turned around to retreat, but Jack used that to his advantage to use the towel and snap my ass. I turned around and glared at him while he laughed. He stopped laughing when I removed my hand from where he snapped me and there was blood. He looked up at me with apologetic eyes and walked out of the room and came back with rubbing alcohol and band aids. He told me to stay still and he cleaned it and put a band aid on it.

Then he took me by surprise and kissed where the band aid was. I was so shocked I was at a loss for words. He then looked at me and said he was being an ass kisser and burst into laughter. I felt my face start burning hot so I turned around and picked up my clothes and started dressing. Jack was still full of laughter while I was getting dressed and even as we got into the car. I made him drive because my ass hurt and so he would be more concentrated on the road then on my burning red face.

We got to Taco Bell and the guys practically jumped Jack. They were so happy to see him. Even Zack seemed to be doing okay. Him and Jack shared a look and for a second I thought that Jack would lose it again, but he didn’t.

Everyone headed inside and ordered. We all just sat talking and eating when Jack said he wanted to tell us something. The first thing was that Nevaeh wanted to visit Maria and he was taking her and would love to have us go so he could have some support, it would be the first time since the funeral he would visit her grave.

The other thing was that after Nevaeh got settled he was ready to start touring if that’s what we still wanted to do.
