Guts

It had been almost two weeks since Flyzik had asked all the questions, and he still wouldn’t let slip why. He would show up to a few practices, take notes, then leave. All of it was really sketchy; we were second guessing our choice.

Then one day at lunch Matt comes running in out of breath. We were confused. Where the hell was the fire? After he caught his breath he drug us all out to his car. It was packed full of boxes. He just kept looking at us with this goofy grin. What were all the boxes about? He unlocked the car and handed a box to Jack who promptly opened it. He pulled out a t-shirt that was red and black and had the words, Never Rock on it. Jack then acquired the goofy grin and opened another box. That one was full of posters with pictures of us practicing.

How did Matt manage this? I asked him and he told me his dad owned a huge printing company that could do anything, so he got us merch! Soon we were all standing there with the big goofy grins. He told us that wasn’t all the good news. He had been a busy boy these last two weeks and booked us three shows, one of which was in just three days!

We were speechless. He had done more in two weeks than we did in two years! This guy was great! We locked his car back up and headed back to the building. I had to get to a computer to message the other guys and have an emergency band meeting. We had to get ready for show.

To:ZackAttack,SexGod,Maria,RiSon,MattFly -URGENT! Emergency band meeting, today at the garage ASAP! HUGE NEWS!!

Even though Maria, Matt, and Jack knew, I sent it out to them so everyone would be in the group chat. I was so excited the rest of the day I could not sit still. I kept fidgeting and bouncing. Jack was the same way. Once we got to music I told Lee what was going on and asked if I could check my email on his computer. He told me yes and I went straight to my messenger.

ZackAttack- Is everything okay?! Now I’m worried. I’m about to be out of school and I’m headed your way.
SexGod- Don’t worry Zack it’s not nothing bad.
Maria- Yea it’s really gr8 actually!
RiSon- I’ll be there as soon as you guys get out

Awesome everyone would be there. I had talked to Matt and asked about our set list and he said we had 20 minutes to do what we wanted with. Any songs, original or cover it didn’t matter.
As soon as school got out we all piled into Matt’s, pretty hard to do since it was crammed full of boxes, car and headed to my house, Zack and Rian were already there setting up and talking. As soon as we pulled up they rushed us and asked what the big rush was.

Jack couldn’t hold it in; he told them about the merch and the gigs. They got a goofy grin and clapped Matt on the back. We then set about picking out songs to play. They of course all wanted to play the ones I wrote, and a few covers.

We had the gig that weekend, two weeks from then, then one at the end of the school year at graduation. Since Matt would be graduating I had an idea, but I couldn’t say anything until he left. We practiced for a little bit until Zack and Matt had to go to work. The rest of us headed in for supper.

After supper Rian had to go home to do homework so that left Jack, Maria, and I. I told them about my idea. I told them I wanted to do something special for Matt since he helped us. We had all heard him sing in music before and we knew he had a voice. I wanted to write a song that he could perform with us.

They both thought it was a great idea. I told them I would set about to writing if they came up with a way to get him on that stage and singing, you see he had really bad stage fright. They told me they would work on it. Jack told us he had to be on his way, May would be going to his house soon to work on wedding stuff and he wanted to see her. Maria kissed him goodbye and he was gone.

It was Marias turn to stay anyway, they had a whole schedule planned out, and approved by the parents. Every other weekend I would stay at Jacks, the off weekend both him and Maria would stay at my place. Jack stayed Monday, Tuesday, and every other Wednesday, and Maria had Thursday, Friday, and the off Wednesdays. They had it planned out.

I really didn’t mind much, I just wished I had some privacy again. When Jack stayed he slept in my bed with me, when Maria stayed, she had my bed and had a blow up mattress on the floor. When I showered the door had to be unlocked, my meds were in a safe that only my mom, Maria, and Jack had the key to, and razors were also on lock down.
I haven’t had any suicidal thoughts, but they were worried, so I let them have their way so they wouldn’t worry and they could feel better. I had never had friends who cared so much. It might have been suffocating, but it was also refreshing.

Yay first real gig! How do you think that will go?? And how will they get Matt to sing?
Ah I love writing this! And I love you guys! You are all awesome for reading and subbing and what not! Also in the not to distant future, SMUT! Imma be super stoked to write that, never done it before so yay new things!
