The last lesson of the day went by pretty fast, Drew has already left, well, I think he has, he's nowhere to be seen. The weather was pretty hot today, the sun was still high in the sky, blazing down on me. I pull my earphones out of my bag as I walk through the school gates. How do they tangle so fucking easily? I stop in frustration, stepping out of the heaps of people who were trying to exit. I lean against a wall, slowly unknotting both earphones. I check my phone quickly before turning my music on. No texts again. Facebook might be more exciting though, I'll have a look when I get home. I tie my hair into a messy ponytail, it's starting to stick to the back of my neck, it was starting to agitate me, it probably looks a mess due to the lack of mirrors. I sigh at the thought of walking all the way back home.

The crowds of people filter out as I continue onto the quieter streets. I put my Blink playlist on, walking slowly to it. Stay Together For The Kids. It reminds me of growing up with Matt, my bestfriend, how he loves this song and how one day he promised to take me to a Blink-182 concert. I sigh internally, knowing there's a high chance I'll never see any of them again, Max, Chris and Dan and there's Emily too, none of them. My nostalgic thoughts are interupted when I hear people shouting behind me.

SHIT! Zack don't you fucking dare! I hear a familiar voice behind me, laughing uncontrollably. Just, j-just put the water down. I don't bother turning around, I don't like the sound of what's going on, it's making me crack-up though.

Zack, Za- Zack, No-. Without warning, I have freezing cold water thrown at me, making my heart slip a few beats. I immedietly turn around. "Hey Jess-" Zack says, laughing at himself. Count to ten Jess, just count to ten. He was with Alex, Oh fabulous. I shake my head at them whilst pulling out my earphones. "I'm- I'm so sorry" He says looking at my drenched hair. Alex was chewing his inner cheek, he looked like he was about to say something, but he didn't bother when Zack began to speak.

"You live round here?" Zack says walking up to me with an apologetic grin smothered across his face. He seemed quiet usually, but Alex was the quiet one right now. He didn't even bother apologising. He just walked next to Zack, as far away from me as possible, what the fuck was his problem?

"Yeah, just around the corner." I say quietly, looking at the ground. I don't know what else to say to him, instead I just waited for him to continue the conversation.

"You like Blink?" Alex finally finds his voice, "I can hear it through your earphones and-"

"Yes, I do." I murmur whilst looking at my phone. I look over at Alex but he was still looking down at the floor.

"Alrighty, my stop, Gaskarth, I'll see you tomorrow." Zack shouts, waving at us as he runs to his front door. This is going to be weird and awkward, but I carrying on walking along side him anyway. There was a few minutes of silence before either of us spoke. "I'm sorry about earlier, I've been a dick to everyone recently, to the boys, to everyone-" he begins.

"Lex, I mean Alex, it's fine-" I had to interupt him, he flashes a smile at me, I pause for a second.

"You doing much later?" He asks, flicking his damp hair out of his eyes. "I mean-"

Alex's POV

"You doing much later?" I ask, I can't stay inside tonight, I'll run myself into oblivion. I miss being able to be my own self. Does she know what I'm hinting at or does she just think it's a general question. "I mean-" stuttering isn't cool, Alex. She thinks you're a freak.

"Nothing, what's there to do?" She asks emotionless, raising an eyebrow at me, those eyes, dark blue, so beautiful, I tried not to carry on staring at her, just for the hard-to-get effect.

"W-Well-" I begin, "Jacks house is free tonight, both his mom and dad are at work, if you feel like going 'round there?" Atleast I look less of a creep if I involve Jack. "I could call Zack, Rian and Cass, too!"

"What about Keirra?" She asks, confused to why I wouldn't want her round, none of us like her except for Cass, anyway.

"Well, she hates me-" I say, chewing on my lip again, I need to stop doing that, I swear it's bleeding now. "Forget it." I sigh.

"Oh." She says, looking down, I already know what shes thinking, what she thinks about me. I just want to spend some time with her and I don't even know the girl. "How about I walk you to your house?" I wink, flashing the 'infamous Gaskarth smile'. "Come on?" I stretch my words out, I may as well be begging on my fucking knees right now.

"Alex, I don't think-" She speaks faintly, she's so fucking hard-to-get.

"Please?" Wait, it should be her, begging me? Pull yourself together, Gaskarth. "I'm sorry for being, y'know, full on earlier, I was a dick." That'll do the trick, I hope.

"Even if I say no, you're just going to follow me anyway, so, yeah, whatever." She shrugs, this girl is confusing, I can feel my cheeks burning up as I realise that I've stopped in my tracks, but she still carries on walking.
