Worse Than Nicotine

The Talk

Because of her running to class, Holly was the first to get into English. A few minutes after, just as the bell rung, Brendon tapped her desk and took the seat next to her. She looked his way―not exactly at him, just near him―and smiled. The truth was: she couldn’t look him in the eye. It was worse than after the dream, because this time, her dream had come true.

Things turned from bad to worse during the week. Every music class, Holly would keep her eyes trained on anything but Mr. Gaskarth. She couldn’t look at him either. She wanted to play it off like nothing ever happened between them, for her sanity and his job. But she couldn’t, not when she wanted it to happen again.

Hayley was her main distraction during his class. Usually she’d always be sneaking side glances at her teacher, but after the thing, she kept her attention all on Hayley. But her teacher wasn’t following the plan. Holly could practically feel his eyes boring into her skin all throughout class. She didn’t understand what he was doing, because he was surely messing up the plan, even though he wasn’t particularly informed on it.

After the long week, Holly treated herself that Friday night to a show up at City Point. She needed to be alone with her thoughts and good music. There was some band called Fall Out Boy playing, and Holly could admit that they were really good. Their bassist was making some ogling eyes at her, which she enjoyed. She always had a secret thing for guys with eyeliner. (How do you think she was attracted to Brendon?)

During a song, she walked outside for a cigarette. She pushed open the heavy door, already flipping her lighter around in her hands, when she halted to a stop.

Leaning against one of the outside fences, was Mr. Gaskarth.

Her breath hitched in her throat and she immediately turned around to go back inside.

“Holly, wait!” He called, approaching her.

She cursed under her breath and spun on her heel, plastering a frown on her face. “Are you following me?”

“I―I just knew you’d be here.” He stuck his hands in his pockets and looked down.

“Whatever you’re trying to do here, Mr. Gaskarth,” she gritted her teeth, “you need to stop. Stop staring at me in class. Stop trying to help me. And stop following me.”

“You don’t think I realize what I’m risking with all of this. My fucking job is on the line!”

“Then why don’t you try to save it and leave me alone!” She shot back, glaring at him.

He let out a sigh and ran a hand through his fringe. “Look, I needed to find you because we really need to talk about it. I knew you’d be here.”

“You wanna talk about it? Fine. I’m attracted to you.” She threw her hands up in the air. “There I said it. The thing that happened between us was wrong and it shouldn’t have happened, but I liked it. Scratch that―I loved it, and I want it to happen again. You make me feel things I haven’t even felt with my own boyfriend, and fun fact: I’ve had a very nice dream about you. I want you, Mr. Gaskarth. Is that what you wanted to hear? Do I get an A for that?”

He grinned as he stared at her frazzled state. Her arms were crossed over her chest as she watched him with angry eyes, and he had to admit, she definitely topped the list of one of the most attractive and interesting girls he had interacted with. “You’ve had a dream about me?”

She looked away with a frown. “Yes, but that’s not going to happen again.”

“Fun fact about me,” he said, taking a step closer to her and watching her eyes widened, “I want to kiss you again.”

The lighter in her hand fell to the pavement.

She glanced up at his eyes, unsure of her thoughts. “I have a boyfriend.”

“But does he have to know?” His smirk pulled her in.

She took note of the way his hands felt while lingered across her hips. “I guess not.”

“By the way,” he added as he pushed her against a wall, “what did I say about calling me Alex outside of school?”

“You talk too much.” She muttered before pulling at the collar of his jacket.

And this is how my second kiss with my music teacher went
, she mused.

@gamble with desire.
AWWWW! That was one of the sweetest comment ever! Thank you so much <3 That really meant a lot to me, especially regarding the sex scene. I was afraid it'd be too awkward, but I was surprised at the good responses I got! Thanks again <3 :)

Okay so I'm really late on this, but I totally stopped reading fics for a while. But I still love this story so so much and I really liked your sex scene! I suck at sex scenes (no pun intended!) but yours was so detailed (but not grossly so) and really well paced and idek how to describe this but you got across really well that she was a virgin and how a virgin might feel if they were in this situation like you weren't all "yup this is sex I'm totally used to it even though I've never done it lol" without it being over-the-top if you catch my drift??

Anyway I'm done fangirling and I love the sequel a lot and you should update really soon!!!
