Chapter Thirty-Five: I Love You

* A week and a half later*

It's Wednesday and Jack is finally let out of that same bleach smelling hospital. He couldn't be more thrilled knowing he's going home- Alex's home, but he guessed he could call it his own now. He still couldn't get his head around the fact Isobel had signed the form to be Jack's guardian. (AN: Is that what it's called? I don't know.) He felt all happy that he gets to live in a nice, more relaxing house where shouting is more like a whisper.

Jack, Alex and Isobel are all in the taxi on their way home. Alex and Jack were obviously sat in the back, Jack sat in the middle while cuddling next to Alex. His belly still hurt like a bitch at some times, but he had strong painkillers to fight against the pain. They work almost all the time. When they didn't, Jack had to sleep it off.

"You okay, Jack" Alex asks quietly over the quiet music that comes from the stereo in the taxi. He rubs Jack's hip carefully from where his top and jumper had been held up slightly.

"Yeah, just tired." He mumbled, his head now in Alex's chest from where it was resting on his shoulder. It was dark out, the street lights on while the sky was dark blue. Alex smiled down at his boyfriend, kissing his head.

"Go to sleep, babe." And maybe he blushed by the fact he called Jack babe, knowing he's never really called him that nickname for a long time. Jack just cuddled up against Alex more, embracing the heat and smell of Alex, closing his eyes and slowly drifting off to sleep.

~~~
Thirty minutes later, the taxi came to stop outside Alex's house. Isobel, the only one wake (and the driver) turned back to the boys, smiling in awe. Alex still had his head on Jack's head but this time his eyes were closed. Jack was nearly on top of Alex, pressed so warmly close to him with his mouth open and his eyes closed tightly shut.
"Awh, would you look at that." Isobel smiled warmly, tilting her head to get a better look at the boys. The taxi driver looked over to the boys, not really interested, he just wanted the money.
"Well, thank you, sir. Now, I need to wake these little monsters up." She handed the taxi driver his money, reaching over the chair and lightly tapping Alex's hand that was still placed on Jack's hip.
"Alex," Isobel says, tapping him again. He mumbled words, slowly waking up.
"Alex, baby, we're home." So says calmly, but a little louder.
"Shut up, Jack." He mumbled, his nose rubbing against Jack's hair. Isobel laughed quietly at her son.
"Alex, it's your mother, wake up!" She slapped his hand hard. He shot up, his eyes wide in shock as his vision was slightly blurred. He looked straight at his mum, giving her a confused look, he then looked down at the boy in his arms and a little smiled tugged at his lips.
"You're gonna have to wake him up, Alex. We're holding the driver up." She rushes him, sending an apologetic smile towards the driver, he just smiles back.
"No it's okay, I can carry him out." Alex whispers, pulling Jack so he was in his laps. Seeing as neither of the boys were wearing their seatbelts (AN: Always wear a seatbelt. :o ), it was easier for Alex to open the door, scoop Jack so he was bridal style in Alex's arms, and out the taxi. Jack woke up anyway, his body noticing the different surroundings. He opened his eyes lazily, looking up at Alex. Alex looked down, giving Jack a kiss on the lips.
"Go back to sleep, Jacky." He mumbled as he pulled his lips away. Jack did as he was told, closing his eyes, falling back to sleep by the time Alex was walking upstairs.
Alex placed Jack down on his bed softly, smiling at the way Jack slowly let go off his arms. He walked over to the corner of the room where a discarded Adventure Time blanket was laying, and brought it back to Jack. Seeing as Alex actually made his bed up, and Jack is laying on top of the covers, he placed the blanket over Jack to keep him warm. He then wondered downstairs, going straight into the living room and sat down on the sofa. His munm joined him a couple of seconds later, smiling mischievously. Alex was more concentrating on the TV, watching his obvious favorite thing in the world, 'Adventure Time'. But his mum drew his attention away by saying something that caught his attention.
"So, Jack..." She started of, the same dimpled smile on her lips. Alex turns his head to his mum, and furrowed his bushy eyebrows a little bit with confusion.
"Yeah, what about him?" Alex didn't know why, but when anyone says something that involves Jack, no matter the situation, he feels like he should protect him. Like when his 'friends' were saying horrible things about him, he got angry and protective, and he had no idea why. Maybe because he wants Jack to be safe as possible, seeing as at home, his past now, wasn't so good. He wants Jack to have the best life, because he deserves it. That's all Alex wanted since he saw how quiet and broken the boy was.
"Well... I was wondering, after seeing you two in the taxi together, and seeing that sneaky little peck you gave him, I was wondering what you two are." She says with interest, sounding like she really wanted to know. Alex sort of felt something get stuck in his throat. His mum doesn't even know he's gay, neither does his dad. Even he, himself, didn't know he was gay until he met Jack. Or maybe he's gay for Jack.
He stared at his mum, blinking, trying to speak, but his mouth wouldn't open. He just gave her a very quiet sigh in defeat.
"Honey, it's okay to like him, you know. I always sensed it, even if I don't know Jack very much." She smiled sweetly, patting her son's knee for comfort. Alex coughed, finally finding his words.
"Mum... Me and Jack...we're d-dating." Alex was kinda dreading his mum's reaction, despite the positive look when she asked about them. But all the dread went with relief as soon as an 'Aw' echoed around the room.
"Aw, my baby! I'm so proud of you." She dived in for a hug, kissing his cheek, earning a disgusted groan from Alex. She soon pulled away, unable to keep the smile away.
"So...you're okay with it?" Alex asked nervously, scratching his legs through his jeans.
"Honey, of course I am! Why wouldn't I be?"
"Because I never told you I'm...gay." He sighed, glancing over at his mum for any signs of disapproval to show up and pin him down, but all that came was another smile.
"I'm not really bothered. Date whoever you want, but not an animal." She pecked his forehead.
"Um, what about dad?" He asked. He hasn't seen his dad for a long time due to the business trip that he's been on. It's sure as hell been a long time just for a trip for work, but he didn't think anything of it. When he noticed his mum's smile disappear, he soon became worried.
"He's coming back, right?" Alex suddenly asked, thinking about the worse that could of happened to him. What if he died? What if someone shot him? What if he's lost. All these thoughts were shot through his brain, and he suddenly felt like crying. He loved his dad very much, despite the fact he suddenly went on business trips at random times. It's been happening for a year now, and Alex sort of forgot about him. Not forgot, no, just never really talked about him much. After all, he's been gone for a couple of months now.
"God, I was dreading this..." He heard a frustrated sigh next to him, and he pulled his attention to his mum, fearing the worst.
"He is, isn't he?" Alex asks in an almost hopeful tone, looking at his mum and not battering his eyelashes at her. His mum sighed and shook her head.
"He...Alex, he r-ran away with t-this women a-and told me he's going on a business t-trip. He lied to me." Tears fell down her cheeks and she bowed her head. She felt almost ashamed for crying in front of her son. She's never cried in front of him, she's always been strong for him. But when she got a call from a close friend of hers,telling her what her husband has been doing behind her back, she broke down and couldn't take it anymore. Alex obviously never noticed how broke she's been for the past months; she's good at hiding it. But that made Alex angry. Not at his mother, but at his father. His mum is the most sweetest person Alex has ever known, and that's not because she's his mum. She's generally a nice, sweet women that's accept anyone. So he didn't understand why his dad would break her like this. They're married, they're meant to stay together. If not for each other, but for Alex, too. Even for Tom.
"That fucking bastard." Alex mumbled, reaching over to his mum, giving her a long, emotional hug. Alex was angry, but he was also sad. Angry at his dad for doing this to his mum, sad because he hated seeing his mum like this, but it also dawned on him that he may never see his dad again.
"It's okay, I'm over i-it." By the crack and sob that racked through her throat, you can tell she was far from over it. Peter was the man she came to love. She trusted him with all her heart. She loved him. Then he disappointed her. He left, went onto another women who's probably a bitch. And Alex could tell that her heart was breaking, so he held her closer, rubbing her back.
"I can tell you're not over it mum. But I don't want you to be upset over that dick, even if you do love him with all your heart...he's not worth your time." He whispered, letting his own tear run down his bare, dry face, reaching up to wipe it.
"I won't, Alex, I promise." She smiled, pulling back from the hug. She chuckled as she wiped her tears.
"Look at me, crying over him. It's ridiculous." She smiled more, her son's words flying through her brain. She was so happy she had Alex. He knows how to cheer someone up just by the simplest words. He knew how his words could effect people in different ways. He's a lovely son.
"You know, Jack's lucky to have a caring, handsome, out going and a honest man like you. You make me proud, Alex." She sniffed, her warm smile glowing on her lips.
"Yeah, well, I'm lucky to have him too. He's great mum, I love him," Alex smiled at the thought of Jack, then remembering he's only upstairs.
"I think I'm gonna go sleep, are you okay now, mum?" He asks, looking at his mum for any sign of not being okay. But he saw none of not being okay, he saw hope, love and even the emotion of feeling proud, and that made him happy.
"Of course. I think I might go bed myself in a minute."
"Alright, night mum."
"Night, hon. Look after that boy upstairs."
"I will do." He smiled as he got up, making his way to the stairs. He looked his mum over one more time to make sure she was alright, then made his way upstairs and into his room.
When he got in his room, he found Jack under the covers, cuddling a pillow that must of obviously somehow got to his arms. Half of him was under the covers, half wasn't. His cheek were against the sheet, his arms clutching the pillows, one leg peeking out the covers, and his butt was in the air. Alex chuckled quietly at the sleeping boy, slowly making his way over to him.
Adorable.
That's the only word Alex could describe Jack at this moment. He took his jacket off along with his shirt and jeans, then set to work on moving Jack so he could get in. This resulted in Jack kissing the pillow, mumbling something along the lines of his name, and Alex chuckled more.
"Jack, I have to sleep, too." He whispered, patting Jack's shoulder. This caused Jack to wake up. His eyes fluttered open, but then shut them again when he saw Alex.
"Seriously, Jack, I'm tired." He groaned. When Jack didn't reply, he realised that he had fell asleep again. He rolled his eyes, looking over the bed for any room at all. It was obvious Alex didn't want to sleep without Jack, so he'll look for any space to lay on. He saw some space against the wall and sighed. He got on the bed, climbing over Jack. He gasped when he felt Jack grab his hips, turning around so he was on his back, and pulled Alex on top of him, connecting their lips. Alex was obviously shocked by Jack's swift movement, but relaxed as he started to kiss those soft lips. Alex's head was tilted to the right, Jack to the left, and their lips moved softly against each others, no rush, just passionate and slow. Jack's hand went on Alex's chest, moving over to where his heart was beating. His heartbeat was quick with love and affection. And that heartbeat was for Jack.
They pulled away moments later, Alex still on top of Jack, his hands by his head. They stared down each other in the dim room.
"I love you." Alex whispered slightly out of breath, looking down into Jack's eyes, loving how the full moon creeped through the crack in the dark curtains and made his eyes shiny. They were beautifully bright, but also gloomy, and Alex loved everything about them.
"I love you, too." Jack whispered back, his eyes flickering down Alex's nose to his lips, back to his eyes, then slowing down to his lips again. Alex leaned down, closing his eyes, slowly connecting his lips with Jack's again. And with them fireworks and butterflies, he knew he could never leave Jack like his dad had done to his mum. He wouldn't even dream of leaving Jack because he loves him with everything he's got, and he'll do anything for him.
He really does love him.
@Twat
oh Damn, sorry. Aldemar died because Jack had did what his father had done... Like, Jack had basically died for a moment, so Aldemar died and never came back when Jack did. I don't know if that makes sense. Maybe I should've included that.
