Chapter Thirty Six: Sleep

Jack woke up around 9PM due to small kisses on the back of his neck. He opened his eyes, but didn't move, fearing that the kisses would stop. He felt his cheeks burn up by the fact his boyfriend his giving him sweet kisses to the back of his neck. The next thing he knew was that Alex's hand crept it's way to his curled up one. Alex rubbed his thumb over Jack's tender skin smoothly. Jack un-curled his fingers, and Alex intertwined them. Jack's heart melted at how sweet his boyfriend is. His heart was slightly beating a little faster as Alex hooked his head over his shoulder and snuggled up to him. He felt his belly fill up with butterflies, and it actual hurt, but he knew it was a positive feeling. By now, Jack's eyes were closed again by Alex's thumb rubbing the back of his head. He loved Alex's touch; it's relaxing. Everything about Alex made him feel warm inside, and he made him feel at home (the best home ever). Ever since he moved schools, he's always wanted to speak to Alex, but couldn't because of the stupid voice in his head. But since Aldemar went, things have took a whole new turn of the leaf, and things are finally looking great. Minus the 'incident' with his dad, everything has been fine. Jack has been clean since he's been living with Alex. Three weeks. (AN: I can't remember how long Jack's been living with Alex. shh, pretend it's three weeks.) And now he felt like nothing could go wrong. He was positive nothing could break what he and Alex have. He hoped so anyway...

"Boys! Lunch!" A yell from downstairs echoed through the house, and Jack's eyes shot open. Despite the fact that Jack's dad is gone, he still feels like he'll be there when he wakes up every morning. It's just the haunted memories of his abusive father that replays through his head every time he wakes up. A constant disastrous memory that's like a broken record player on repeat.

A groan comes from near his ear and Jack chuckles.

"We better get up." Alex yawned, his fingers slipping from Jack's, sitting up and rubbing the sleep from his eyes. Jack sits up like Alex, taking little glances at his morning hair. And yeah, he looked adorable.

"What are you looking at, Barakat?" Alex chuckled, noticing Jack's side glances every five seconds.

"Oh, u-um, your hair." Jack blushed, ducking his head as he realised Alex caught him looking. Alex's hands ruffled his hair and he laughed too.

"Yeah, you should see yours. Come on, lunch." Alex crawled out the covers, only to realise he was only in his boxers.

"God, Barakat, what did you do to me last night?" He joked, walking over to the draws and finding himself a pair of shorts. Jack just looked down, playing with his fingers as Alex got changed.

"Boys!" Isobel shouts them again.

"Yes, coming!" Alex shouts, sighing, rolling his eyes.

"Come on beautiful." He winked at Jack, holding his hand out for Jack to gladly take. Jack blushed, getting out off Alex's bed and held his caramel haired boyfriend's hand, their fingers locked.

They walked downstairs, discarding their hands as they sat down at the table. Jack felt a little nervous eating while Isobel is in the room. He still felt like he couldn't talk to her very much due to his anxiety, but at least he'll try.

Isobel gave the boys their plates of sandwiches, crisp packet each, and a sausage roll. And Jack looked at it like the best thing ever. Sure, Isobel gives him food at breakfast, lunch and dinner, but this is gonna be the first meal he's ate at his new home with his boyfriend and now, practically his mum. Isobel may not be his biological mum, but she sure acts like one. And Jack couldn't stop the smile that was on his face as he picked up his sandwich.

~~~
Later on that day, Alex and Jack were back upstairs, Isobel starting her night shift. They both were previously down stairs watching TV, but Alex decided to come back upstairs and play the guitar. When Alex was finished with the guitar, he handed it over to Jack. He gladly took it and started to play a little tune that he had made up a long time ago. As he was playing beautifully, a sharp pain in his belly made him stop and hiss painfully. Alex quickly took the guitar off Jack's laps after hearing the hiss, and started worrying.
"Do you need your pain killers?" Alex asked with worry, looking at Jack with sympathy, because really, he didn't deserve what his dad did to him. Jack nodded, and Alex shot out the room to the bathroom where they kept their medicine.
Alex returned to Jack with a fresh glass of water, Jack was still doubled over a bit, nearly in tears. It was obvious the pain was getting a little too much for him to cope with. Alex just hoped the painkillers will do. He handed Jack the glass and painkillers, and Jack instantly took them, downing the rest of the water too. Alex just looked at him with a pout.
"Do you wanna go back to sleep?" He asks, sitting down next to him. Jack nodded. Alex just bit his lip, getting up and bringing the covers back as far as they could, seeing Jack was still sitting on it.
Alex got under the covers, Jack painfully getting in next to him, a hiss through his teeth as he laid the opposite side from his stitches. Alex brought him in closer, trying not to hurt him much, and let him cuddle into him.
"Hurts." Jack whispered into Alex's chest, clinging onto his shirt every time the familiar pain shot through his body. Alex rubbed his back very smoothly and calm, his other hand playing with Jack's hair.
"Shh shh, go to sleep." Alex mumbled, twirling Jack's hair around his finger, kissing him on the head. He felt something wet in his shirt, and he knew Jack was crying.
"B-But it hurts." He said into my shirt, gripping harder on to it.
"It will do, but it'll be gone in a few days, I promise. Maybe even tomorrow." Alex continued to comfort Jack, singing into his ear, trying to top Jack's quiet sobs. And in five minutes flat, Jack was fast asleep in Alex's arms, and Alex's head was resting on Jack's. He stared at the wall in front of him, wondering how he got this lucky. Sure, life was okay for him, but finding love wasn't. He's never really had a girlfriend or boyfriend before Jack, and he's happy Jack is his first serious relationship. How did one boy who spoke to a guy that never talked fall in love with him? It was like they were meant to be together.
With thoughts of Jack on his mind, he fell asleep in a nice, dreamy slumber.
Notes
It's a little short, but it's an update, right? :p And I kind of got lazy with the titles...
@Twat
oh Damn, sorry. Aldemar died because Jack had did what his father had done... Like, Jack had basically died for a moment, so Aldemar died and never came back when Jack did. I don't know if that makes sense. Maybe I should've included that.
