Dangerous

Chapter Eleven: Beggars

The voices they're loudest at night
And they're so loud that they're haunting my mind
Although I know it makes him unsettled
To know I'll get better, if I find something deep within

Jack

Jack lowered his head as he walked out of geography. He was the last one to walk out as always. The corridor was fairly quiet as he walked down it, but he couldn't help but hear footsteps behind him. He knew instantly that someone was following him.

Jack picked up the pace, his feet lazily striding down the corridor. He noticed that the footsteps weren't there anymore, but he didn't slow down; he didn't want to risk them following him again.

Jack turned his head and lifted it up a bit. History. He opened the door to his History class, knowing he was slightly late. How? He didn't know.

"Barakat! Why are you always the last one in to my classroom?" The teacher, Mrs.Smith raged. Jack bit his lip, standing there at the front of twenty or more kids while getting shouted at. If you didn't think that was embarrassing and nerve wrecking, then experience it while the whole class is silent and looking at you. Mrs.Smith is a very strict teacher. Jack should've known this by now.

"Take a seat." She sighed. Jack let out a deep breath and tried to find his seat, but, as he got to it, he noticed Alex was sitting in it. Jack felt like he was going to have a panic attack right there. But Alex noticed Jack.

"Sorry. Someone's in my seat too. You can sit next to me though." Alex whispered. Jack was quite sure the class was watching him.

Jack nodded to himself and took the seat next to Alex. As he sat down, he placed his bag over his laps and relaxed into the chair, looking down at his hands that were resting on his bag. Jack never really pays attention to school. He doesn't like anything here, not one little bit. Everyone treats him like shit, and he hates it how he has to be the target. Jack hated how the teachers would ask Jack a question, knowing full well that they won't get one. Let's take Mrs.Smith as an example.

"Jack, open your book. Page 23. You're reading paragraph one." She said casually. Jack gulped, unable to move any aspect of his body. Jack couldn't control his body. Anxiety has took over him. He felt his leg bouncing up and down quickly. He knew any minute now, he was going to have a panic attack. He felt all eyes on him. Not once did he eye the book on his table for his heart was beating so quick it was grabbing Jack's attention.

"Jack, you have to talk one day. The sooner the better. Look, it doesn't matter. Alex, take Jack out please." Mrs Smith said into the quiet atmosphere. Jack couldn't breath, let alone stand up. He tried, he really did. All he needs is comfort to help him.

"Jack, come on. Can you stand up for me?" Alex's angel, sweet voice appeared. Jack nodded, pushing forward and shaking on his two legs. He got up. Alex helped him.

"Now-Now careful." Alex instructed, grabbing my arm. Jack would've flinched away, but he didn't want to waste his remaining energy on that. Slowly, Alex guided Jack out the door, finding it a little difficult. He walked Jack down the hall until they were halfway down. Jack couldn't go no more; he was having an panic attack.

"Jack, are you okay?" Alex asked, concern taking over his voice. Jack nodded slowly, even though nothing about him was okay, especially right now.

"No you're not. Sit, Jack. Sit down." Alex said smoothly, making Jack sit down. Alex kneeled down in front of Jack and just starred as Jack brought his knees up to his chest and pour his head onto it. Jack sniffed a little, his mouth opening and closing in attempt to breath and not to cry. He knew if he just cried, it would help a little, but not when Alex is here.

"Breathe," Alex whispered to Jack. Jack sucked in air and tried to release it but his knees were in the way.

"You need to lift your head up, Jack. It helps." Alex said calmly. Jack shook his head, protesting against Alex. Jack hasn't lifted his head up fully for several of years and he wasn't going to do it now. Not ever.

"Jack please. At least lift it up a little bit. Please." Alex sweetly said. Jack gulped and lifted his head up, but looked away from Alex to looked down the hallway. His head wasn't too high up, but it was clear to see most of his features. Jack could feel his heart beating faster, and so, he closed his eyes. He tried to breathe normal, it isn't so easy.

"Jack, listen to my breaths." Alex's angelic voice smothered Jack. Jack listened carefully trying to listen but his heart was beating too loud. Jack felt warmth come out of no where. It seemed to be coming from in front of him. Alex. Alex was getting so close to Jack. Jack bit his lip. He didn't like people this close.

"Okay, so listen closely." Alex said. Jack could feel the breaths of Alex on him and he realised Alex was so close up to him. Jack kept shaking as he heard Alex's breaths, trying to copy his actions.

It took half an hour of pain for Jack to come back down to reality. Alex sat back and watched Jack look down, his chest now rising and falling steadily. Alex nodded, grabbing Jack's hand and helping him up. Jack hesitated, and then let Alex's hand pull him up.

"Are you okay, now?" Alex asked carefully. Jack nodded, even though he was lying. Jack bit his lip.

"T-Thank you." Jack whispered so quietly he wasn't even sure if he actually spoke himself. Alex's smile grew, knowing what Jack had said.

"You're welcome, Jack. Hey, guessing that the bell is going to go, do you wanna walk to Music with me?" Alex asked, looking at Jack as he gripped his hoodie sleeve. Jack nodded again. Alex mentally sighed and then started walking with Jack to class.

@Twat

oh Damn, sorry. Aldemar died because Jack had did what his father had done... Like, Jack had basically died for a moment, so Aldemar died and never came back when Jack did. I don't know if that makes sense. Maybe I should've included that.
