Alex

Alex perched himself at his lunch table, saying hi to everyone sat at it. Alex only knew Rian and Zack, but the others looked familiar. He decided not to talk to Zack or Rian's friends.

Alex reaches in his bag for his lunch. He feels the familiar brown bag and pulls it out onto the table. The table was quiet today, and he didn't know why. Normally it was the loudest table in the canteen, but not today. His nerdy friends are quiet and minding their own business. Alex shrugged and got his ham sandwich out and took a bit bite of it. Alex heard Zack and someone else whispering something, but what ever it was, it seemed to be about Alex. Alex frowned as he watched Zack take glances at him.

Alex shifts awkwardly on his seat, becoming nervous. Why would they be talking about Alex? Suddenly, Alex heard the name 'Jack's slip out of Zack's friend's mouth. Straight away, Alex wasn't hungry anymore. He didn't know why, but he just didn't feel like it. He tucked his sandwich in his bag before getting up and walking over to the bin. When Alex turned around to look at his table, he saw that they were happily talking. Alex was confused as fuck. He slowly started making his way to his table, trying his best to look invisible so he can sneak in on the conversation about him. But as soon as he got there, everyone zipped their mouths and put the keys in their pockets. Alex sighed, becoming paranoid. He sat down and looked at everyone on the table. They had blank expressions on their faces. Alex had had enough.

"Okay, what's going on guys?" Alex sighed, getting frustrated. They all blinked at each other, trying to play the 'I don't know what you're talking about' role. He turned to look beside him and gave Rian a deep death glare.

"What ,dude?" Rian asked innocently, raising his hands up in surrender. Oh, Alex can play the cop.

"What are you guys hiding from me?" Alex cocked his eyebrow, and looked around the table again. There was about seven or eight people sat at the table. Alex caught some guy whispering into Zack's ear.

"What were you saying?" Alex smiled sarcastically to the boy. He saw Zack sigh and rest his arms on the table, crossing them slightly.

"We saw you hanging out with that Jack lad." Zack sighed, looking displeased. Alex frowned, but anger shot right through him.

"And please tell me what the fuck's wrong with that?" Alex sneered. Then, after Alex just functioned to what he just said, he blinked in fear. He just used the 'F' word at one of his best friends. Yeah, you're probably thinking, 'come on, Alex, it doesn't matter- it's just a word!' No, Alex has never been the one to be cursing and have anger shoot through his body. He was barely angry at people. He wanted to be nice to every single person out there, not hold them down by nasty comments. Alex looked at Zack, who had a shocked face.

"I'm sorry, I'll be leaving." Alex sighed, grabbing his bag before getting up. Everyone was silent as Alex started to leave. There was only five minutes of lunch left anyway.

Alex shrugged off the weird feeling in his gut and started heading to Geography.

Once he got there, he saw Jack leaning against the wall, head down as usual. Alex bit his lip and wondered of to him. Alex hated the fact Jack always kept his face down. He was hiding those big, brown eyes of his. He was hiding that beautiful face of his. Alex was about to speak to Jack, but the bell caught him.

Kids started walking into Geography, including Jack and Alex. Alex decided to follow behind Jack. He kind of felt a little nervous that if Jack looked behind (which was very unlikely), that he think Alex was a stalker of some type. But Alex carried on following him right until Jack sat down. Alex decided to sit down behind Jack, not wanting to make him uncomfortable. Alex didn't know why, but he certainly wanted to be friends with Jack. It could be because he has an amazing music taste, or, he just catches Alex's attention. He doesn't know how Jack does it.

"Alright, class, settle down!" The teacher called over the loud, annoying students. Alex honestly felt bad for any teacher that teaches in his school. The students are bizarre. The students are like wild animals.

After a while, the class quieted. There was very quiet whispers now and then while the teacher was talking. Alex wasn't really paying attention to class. He was trying to figure out a way to make Jack talk more often. It was none of Alex's job to make Jack talk, he was aware of that. He knew he can't just go and command Jack to open up like a book. He'll have to go steady, even if Jack didn't like Alex, Alex was going to make Jack open up.
