The Rock Show

The Final Goodbye

After taking some nice shots of ATL’s set in Nashville, Victoria headed back over to the band’s tent. She set her camera down and took her spot next to Vinny with a wide grin. “Good afternoon, Vincent.”

He glanced at her while retrieving cash from a fan and handing them a shirt. “What are you so giddy about?”

She shrugged. “Maybe it’s just that fact that … LISA’S LEAVING TODAY!” She jumped around excitedly.

“I can’t believe you guys did what you did. That was killer.” He leaned back on the table behind them.

“Couldn’t have done it without the rest of the boys,” she smiled.

He nodded and then jerked his head in her direction. “I have to go meet up with a buddy up at the water station. Watch the tent?”

“You’re a bitch, Vincent, always leaving me here and shit.” She joked as she started folding a box of fresh black shirts.

“I do it out of love.” He said, kissing her cheek and running the other way to the water station.“Thanks, Vic!”

“Asshole!” She called back, chuckling.

It was only a pile and a half later of folding that a pair of familiar pink manicured nails tapped the table in front of Victoria. The dark blonde looked up, frowning at her former friend just across from her. “Thought you would’ve been gone by now,” she muttered, going back to her folding.

Lisa shrugged. “Everything’s packed in my car. I wanted to go around and say my goodbyes.”

“Well, the rest of the band isn’t here.” Victoria informed while lifting another box of shirts and putting it on the table. “And I’m really not interested in talking to you.”

“Fine, you don’t need to hear my goodbye.” Lisa rolled her eyes. “But you need to answer one question of mine.”

Victoria slapped her hands on the table, a threatening gesture. “And why would I?”

“Because I need to know,” the scrawny brunette mumbled. “Would you believe me if I said I actually did want to make amends with you guys?”

Victoria was taken a bit aback. Sure, she didn’t believe in a lot of things Lisa said anymore, but this question baffled her. She did almost want to believe it, but she answered too quickly.

“No,” she frowned, “no, I wouldn’t.”

Lisa cocked an eyebrow. “Why not?”

“Isn’t it obvious?” The dark blonde did the same gesture. “For someone who’s such an evil mastermind, this really goes over your head, doesn’t it?”

The brunette looked down, cracking her knuckles so intensely that Victoria pondered if she was going to hit her. That’s when she remembered that this girl didn’t have the guts to do that.

“And to answer your question, I wouldn’t because I’ve been done with your bullshit since day one, Lisa. I’m not going to believe any word you say again.”

The former friend looked up, and this was the first time Victoria saw a genuine look in her eyes since two years ago. “Boys can really come between two friends, can’t they?”

Victoria frowned. “That’s where you’re wrong. We’re not friends. Never again.”
