The Rock Show

It was hard to ignore the constant staring Alex and Jack gave her during their set while she took pictures. It became so annoying that she stopped and decided to walk away from the crowd, heading back to the merch tent. She set her camera down with a sigh, hearing her name being called by Vinny. “Rough day?” He asked, handing a shirt to the last fan in line at the moment.

“Rough life,” she muttered, approaching the table in front of them.

“Okay, since there’s not many fans coming to the booth, can you do me a favor?”

“You wanna catch a set?” She suggested, and he nodded.

“Haven’t been able to catch Secrets all tour. Mind watching the tent while I’m gone?”

She shrugged, turning to a pile of black shirts with “DON’T PANIC!” written on them. “What else do I have to do in life?”

“Awesome! Thanks, Vic!” He kissed her cheek quickly and bolted off the other way, screaming, “You’re a life saver!”

She wiped the kiss off her cheek, mumbling, “Italians and their kissing …”

She only folded four shirts when she was interrupted by a girlish clearing of voice. Victoria looked up, seeing Lisa hooking her pen on her clipboard and tapping her bubblegum pink nails on the surface. Victoria stared at the former friend, waiting for her to explain since she clearly wasn’t in the mood for this type of bullshit.

“Word around the tour is that both Alex and Jack want in your pants,” she smacked her gum loudly, causing Victoria’s annoyance to grow.

The dark blonde smacked her hand down on the table. “You know what, Lisa? I really don’t have time for you right now.”

“Yeah, well, I don’t have time for Alex’s relationship with you.” Her face twisted, becoming more serious. The once fake smile that graced her face was replaced by a stern frown.

“We’re not together.”

“Whatever it is, your ‘relationship’ with him needs to stop.”

Victoria breathed out a long heavy sigh. “Lisa, how many times does it take to get it through your thick skull that Alex and I are not together? We’re just friends.” She then looked away to the ground. “I actually don’t know what we are right now after I screamed at him yesterday.”

“Victoria, I don’t think YOU’RE getting this.” She leaned in a little too close for comfort for Victoria. “If I can’t have Alex anymore, no one can.”

The dark blonde narrowed her eyes. “What are you saying?”

“Oh, and look who has the thick skull now?” She smirked, grabbing a piece of Victoria’s layers and twirling it.

Victoria smacked her hand away. “Don’t fucking touch me.”

“So here’s the deal, Vic,” she nearly spit out her name as she looked down at her clipboard. “If I find out you and Alex are together, I’ll get ATL kicked off of Warped, okay?” She grinned big, leaving Victoria confused.

“You can’t get a band kicked off just like that. It’s impossible.”

Lisa pulled out her cellphone, waving it in the air. “Do you still doubt my connections, Victoria? You should know by now not to.”

“But there’s only one part that still confuses me, Lees.” Victoria dramatically tapped a finger to her chin. “What I don’t get here, is why you even bother to still chase him―” she looked straight into her eyes then, boring holes into them “―when he clearly doesn’t like you anymore.”

“That’s where you really need to think.” She gripped her clipboard tightly, and Victoria knew she hit a nerve. “Even though he isn’t with me, I’ll always be in love with him.”

Victoria had never felt real fear to Lisa, what with her being a few inches shorter than her and extremely timid. But as the brunette smirked and walked back to SWS’ tent, Victoria knew she meant business.

She was so fucked.
