Deer In The Headlights
Chapter Thirty-Nine
Alex's p.o.v.
"So, where are you from?" Jack asked me from across the table. I smiled widely.
"I was born in Essex, in England. I then moved up here when I was sixteen, so that's why I sound weird." I laughed, shaking my head. Even I notice I still have an English accent. It shines through sometimes.
"I thought I noticed that accent!" Jack exclaimed, chuckling after.
"Yeah, I still have the accent." I smiled at Jack. He looked so happy. It's quite strange to be happy in here, in therapy. But I guess I should keep it up with making him stay happy.
"Anyway...What are your favorite things?" I asked, placing my hands on the table, crossing over my arms.
"Hmm, you, music, guit-"
"Me?" I looked at him in shock. My eyes went slightly wide. I was one of his favorite things. He also said me first. I felt a strange feeling in my gut.
"Of course, dumbass." Jack rolled his eyes, letting out a small, cute laugh. My mouth turned into a 'o' shape before I closed it again.
"Anyway...Guitars, Blink-182, Green Day, New Found Glory, every punk band, I like to draw sometimes, but I barely get the motivation. Blue is a pretty cool colour. Kevin McCallister is cooler than anyone. And that's it," Jack let out a breath from all his talking.
"Now you!" He ordered. I rolled my eyes.
"Okay, so obviously you, singing, guit-"
"Me?" He mocked me from what I said earlier, putting on a weird accent that I defiantly did not sound like.
"I don't sound like that." I gave him a fake death glare. He gasped, looking offended.
"Uh, yeah you do " He waved his finger, acting all sassy. I shook my head at him.
"Nuh-uh, nope." I protested. I smiled at Jack who was looking like he was thinking of a throw back. I looked at the new clock above his head. Shit. I looked down at my watch, confirming that the clock above Jack's head was telling the right time.
"Shit Jack, you have to go. You're one minute late for leaving." I pouted, looking back at Jack.
"Oh." Jack said quietly, a sad facial expression on his face. He got up and I did the same. I walked him to the door.
"I'll see you Wednesday, Jack. I love you." I whispered the I love you part. He smiled down at me, still looking slightly sad. I didn't want him to feel like that.
"I love you, too, " He whispered back, pecking my nose. He opened the door, stepping out.
"Seeya, Mr. Gaskarth!" He winked, waving shortly. Damn, that boy. I waved back to him, watching him walk away before walking back into my room. I collected my bag with all my work stuff in, checked if I had my keys in my pocket, got my keys out and walked out my room, locking it after. I began making my way to the reception, smiling at Anna. She looked up pointing her finger to the sign out paper. I nodded, grabbing the pencil on the side and ticked the "out" box that was on my column.
"Seeya, Alex." She twirled her hair around her fingers, chewing on some gum. I nodded and just walked away. Anna is a strange, strange women.
I unlocked my car, getting into it and driving home. Once I arrived at home, I went straight to the fridge, grabbing a yogurt and some bread from the side. Damn it, I was hungry.
