Deer In The Headlights

Alex's p.o.v.

"Hey, Anna," I said to Anna, asking for her attention. As she lifted her head up, she flashed a smile to me. I smiled gingerly back. Hopefully she let's me go. Jack only had twenty minutes left of therapy, Wednesday being his longest therapy lesson.

"Can I help you Alex?" She asked nicely, her weird accent filling the once noise-y room. I nodded.

"May you please do the honor of letting me go get something? I won't be long, just going down the road." I asked, plead hinting in my voice. She looked un-sure at first, but then she rolled her eyes, nodding. My smile grew instantly.

"If you take more than ten minutes, me or your boss won't be happy with you." She warned, actually sounding quite fierce. I nodded, darting out the door.

As I got in my car, I could't help but think of Jack. I mean, he's my patient, and I should be feeling wrong, not right. The fact that he was checking my ass out and he got a boner from me whispering a little bit too sexy by 'accident' in his ear made me chuckle. He's so innocent at sometimes. Then just minutes ago flashed through me as I drove around the corner. The boy. I swear I recognised his face from somewhere, but I just couldn't put a name to his face; it was really bugging me now. Jack had found the boy, right? I wonder what Jack is doing right now back in my work place.

I parked my car outside Costa, walking into the warm place. I looked at all the cake and licked my lips. No, I was not in here for food. I was in here for Jack.

"Hello?" A little voice popped up. I looked to where it came from and a short women was at the front. I smiled and walked over to her.

"Um, hey, can I have one hot chocolate please?"

I walked back into work, trying not to spill the hot chocolate on my way.

"Mmm, you're one minute early." Anna joked from the reception. I chuckled, shaking my head. I mumbled a thank you and started to head my way and prepare myself to meet Jack.

I walked into my work place, biting back a chuckle. I've never seen something so cute in my life. Jack was laid across the counter awkwardly on his side. His hair was stuck up in places of what I could see. He had my jumper over him, cuddling it a little. A form of dribble was coming from his mouth and onto the counter. I bit my lip, setting the hot chocolate on the table, walking over to sleeping Jack. I looked at him for a while. So peaceful, it was a cute sight. He snored, making me jump a little. Okay, calm down Alex, try not to aww out loud.. I gently whispered Jack's name near his ear, shaking him a little. He mumbled, trying to turn over. I could see the frustration on his face as he tried to turn his body around. I chuckled.

"Jack, come on." I mumbled, poking his cheek. He groaned, opening his eyes steadily. I smiled at him, watching as his brown eyes averted to me.

"Morning." Jack said sleepy, yawning after. He rubbed his eyes.

"Afternoon," I said, walking over to the table. Jack stretched out, he placed his legs over the counter before jumping down. He smiled as he lazily walked over to me, nearly tripping over on the way. I chuckled and gestured him to sit in front of me. As he did, I handed the hot chocolate to him. He looked at it, confusion on his face as he starred down at it. He then looked at me in awe, an huge smile tugging his mouth. I blushed a little.

"T-thank you, Alex." Jack said before picking up the hot chocolate and drinking it. I blushed again, looking down. I'm not really the one for sweet things, but I remembered how I got a hot chocolate for him when he was sad.

"You went to Costa and brought this?" Jack asked, placing the cup down. He had hot chocolate under his nose and chuckled, making a sign telling him he had hot chocolate around his mouth. He looked confused, but then blushed, rubbing the chocolate off.

"Yeah." I admitted, ducking my head a little. I could feel Jack's eyes on me.

"That's so cute- I mean, t-thank you." Jack mumbled. Did he just say that was cute? Oh god, stop Jack. I smiled up to him. He starred at me as he drank his hot chocolate, his eyes not leaving mine.
