I got that (Jack POV)
Jack POV
I ate my bread in silence although it tasted so good I had to be careful not to moan or anything. Peanut butter. Sweet, salty, creamy deliciousness. Alex was grinning at me and it was just so cute I had to smile. We smiled at each other and I was able to take a closer look at him.
He looked very tired; as if he hadn’t slept too well. In fact, I knew he hadn’t, since he had been up walking around the living room sometime during the night. He had seemed upset but I hadn’t dared to do anything so had I pretended I was still asleep.
“So, I thought we could do something nice to unwind and relax a bit today. Also I can get to know you a bit better that way,” he said, getting me out of my musings about him which had turned into something about the deepness of his eyes?
“What would that be?” I asked curiously. A day with him sounded good.
“I’d like to show you my favourite place to be… The aquarium,” he said. I was interested but I knew it cost a lot since I had gone on a school trip there before I had dropped out of school. I couldn’t afford it, I didn’t even have money to buy my own food. And I couldn’t let Alex pay for it.
“It sounds great but I don’t have the money for it,” I said, lowering my head so I wouldn’t have to look him in the eyes. I was ashamed of my poverty and felt very worthless. Alex did something I hadn’t expected. He touched my chin and tilted my head up so he could look me in the eyes.
“Shh, I got this. I have a membership since I go there that often and I have a friend there who will let us in for little money. It’s okay,” he whispered. His hazel eyes met mine, soothing and calming me down. Maybe he was right. This could be amazing.
“I promise I will pay you back if I get enough money,” I said, trying not to cry. He was too kind.
“It’s okay,” he replied. “May I hug you? You look like you could need a hug,” he asked.
It was true, I was in dire need of a hug. I nodded and he leaned in. Slowly, he wrapped his arms around me, careful not to make it too tight. I hugged back, wrapping my arms around him. I hadn’t hugged anyone since the incident. It felt amazing. Alex smelled great too, a calming mix of aftershave and something else.
I broke the hug since I didn’t want to make him feel obliged to hug me. I smiled at him and he did too, showing his beautiful, white, straight teeth.
“So, let’s go so we can enter early!” he said. I nodded eagerly, I was thrilled to go to the aquarium. We packed up, taking some snacks and water with us before putting on our clothes (my new clothes were amazing and my old ones were also in the washing machine). We left and got on the subway.
I remained silent all the way. I felt a bit weird and I decided that I needed to write for a bit to calm myself down. It was strange to not be looked at for my appearance and my smell. I got out my notebook and started scribbling down a poem expressing my feelings. I could see Alex being interested but I held it in a way which made it impossible for him to see what I was writing.
When we arrived, I shut my notebook and we got off. It was only a short walk to the aquarium. We walked into the building and he confidently strode up to the only ticket counter that was not full of people, presumably because of the “CLOSED” sign.
“Hey Chris, would you mine letting me and my friend here in?” he said to a tall black guy. How could I have not seen him? His voice was really deep and rough.
“Sure thing. You got a membership card?” Chris said, looking at me. Before I could say something, Alex pulled out his wallet.
“I got that,” he said. “I’ll pay for him. How much?”
“I’ll give you a good price, Alex. How about 12$?” he offered. Alex nodded and handed him the money. I got a ticket and off we went.

Aw yay Alex is so cute and nice but Jack is too, don't you think?
And yes, I am aware that this is not really the whole trip to the aquarium but I'm gonna be out tonight and I don't have the time to write more.I apologize deeply but you'll get the rest of their trip tomorrow (probably). Besides, the chapter would have been really long if I had described their whole trip.
