Homeless
Stumbling (Jack POV)
Jack POV
I stumbled out of the restaurant. I started walking, not caring about where I was going. I heard someone shouting behind me but I began running. My chest was radiating an incredible pain, breathing was hard and I felt dizzy. Alex thought I was annoying. I tried to focus on where I was going but I couldn’t. Tears were messing with my sight and I gave up and stopped caring.
I crossed streets, ignoring the horns of the cars being honked at me. I made them all stop, not caring whether I would die.
I ran until I couldn’t anymore. The pain was still not better. I slowed down, and walked for a long time until I was at a big square with some greenery. I didn’t know where in the city I was.
It started to snow, little, delicate snowflakes falling down. It was late, I was alone and it was so silent. I could only hear my breath and my heartbeat. I stood still, looking at the small white crystals flying down from the sky. The pain had stopped now, leaving me numb.
Everything felt surreal. I wasn’t able to feel anything anymore, not even my heartbeat. I was floating, detached from everything.
I fell, but I didn’t care. I didn’t feel how my head hit the ground.
