Bite the Bullet

Laying in bed that night, I fully understood the level on which I had fucked up. Not only did I let my secret get known, I slipped up in front of the person who hates me the most. I offered my body as a plea. I don't think I could get much lower. But then again, I always do open my mouth too soon...
"Cause Jersey just got colder and I'll have you know I'm scared to death. Tha-" I scrambled to answer my phone before it woke anyone up. Note to Self: I really need to learn how to turn my volume down. Without looking at the caller ID in my desperate need to stop the damned phone, I answered.
"Hello?"I whisper, straining my ears to hear the reply without turning up the volume. I had to make sure nobody woke up.
"Hey Fag. Come to the park on Springlake. We need to set up some ground rules on how this is going to work" The voice on the end stated seriously.
"1) Who is this and 2) You realize that it's 2:30 in the morning right?" I'm not gonna lie I'm pretty confused as to who would be calling me at this hour. I know I probably should have clicked who it was, but my tired, slightly-hungover mind still wasn't processing much at this point.
"How many people are you making sex deals with at this point in time? And yes, of course I fucking know what time it is! Unlike some fucking people, I'm more then able to tell time, dumbass. But this is the only time I can be sure no one will see me with you." The longer he talked the less it sounded like talking and sounded more like a sneer. I gulped, hoping he didn't hear and that maybe my voice wouldn't shake when I finally got enough air in my lungs to reply.
"Oh....Sorry… Give me ten minutes, I just ne-" before I could get the rest of my sentence out, I heard the click which informed me that Alex, had in fact, hung up. With a heavy sigh and an even heavier heart, I put on my hoodie, slipped on my shoes, and was out the door.
To my displeasure, the walk to the park in question was only about 8 minutes. The closer I drew to the park the smaller my strides became. Did I really want to go talk to him -No. If I didn't show up would he tell the school my secret? -Most Likely. Was I ready for everyone to know -Hell NO. Before I could realize how caught up in my thoughts I was, I ran into someone standing next to the slide. Looking up, I saw the face of the one person I hated, but needed the most in that moment of time.
