I'll Keep A Secret If You Keep Me Guessing

Alex asked me to go to his house. Someone had just invite me to his house! Not just a someone, it was Alex Gaskarth, one of the most popular kids in school. Wow.

If I tell you the truth, I was nervous. I hadn’t go to someone’s house in like… forever. My dad wouldn’t let me, or nobody would invite me. Although I was nervous, I was pretty excited about it. Alex didn’t seem to be a.. big jerk.

When Alex asked me about my bruise and why was I in the park, I got scared to death. I couldn’t tell him my dad did this, I couldn’t. He would laught at me, beat me more, or something like that.

“Everything okay?” Alex asked me, taking me out of my thoughts.

“U-um yeah… sure.” I mumbled, blushing.

We walked a little bit more in an awkward silence. Why wasn’t Alex talking like he usually did? Maybe something had happened to him… I shrugged my thoughts off. Alex probably had a perfect life. We got to his house and almost inmediatly a woman appeared in front of us.

“Alex! I was worried about you!” she asked him.

“I was at the park with Jack.” Alex said, ponting at me. The woman, who I suppoused was Alex’s mom, turned to face me, smiling widely.

“Hello Jack.”

“Uh… um… Hi Mrs. Gaskarth.”

“Oh, no! Call me Isobel.” She giggled. “Well, have fun boys!” Isobel said, turning around and disappearing through a door.

Alex walked up the stairs, and I decided to follow him. We got to his bedroom, and it was… wonderful. A lot of band posters, concert tickets, cds, a guitar, clothes thrown up everywhere. A normal teenager’s bedroom… but it had something I liked.

“Sorry it’s untidy, I didn’t expect anybody to come.” He looked at me while he layed on his bed. “Wanna hear some music?”

I nodded, and he told me to choose any cd that I wanted. I decided to hear Enema Of The State, Blink’s album. I put it and almost inmediatly Dumpweed started. I sat on the floor, with my eyes closed, and started humming the lyrics. I almost forgot that I was at Alex’s house… music had this effect on me. When I opened my eyes again, Alex was staring at me.

“W-what?” I asked, blushing.

He chuckled. “It’s nothing.”

We stayed like that for like an hour. Just listening music and enjoying the other’s company. I discovered something: Alex was a great singer. But then, I came back to reality. I had to go. But I had nowhere to go.

“Um… Alex?” I asked.

“Yeah?”

“Do you know some where were I could stay the night?”

He looked at me. “Um… no. Why?”

I froze. “Um.. it’s just… uh… I can’t go back home. Something happened and I uh…” A lie Barakat, think of something, quickly.

“You can stay here if you want to.” He said.

“I wouldn’t want to bother you…”

“You’ll never bother me.” He coughed. “Us, I mean… It’s not a problem if you stay the night.” He blushed and left the room.

You’ll never bother me.
