I'll Keep A Secret If You Keep Me Guessing
Chapter Nine
Alex's p.o.v
"Sorry to drag you away from your...friend, son, but we need to go somewhere...important." A tall man with brown, hazel hair said. I looked over to Jack who was looking straight down into the pavement.
"I hope you don't mind..." I looked back over to the man. He seemed to have Jack's features: big nose, brown eyes, and the same skin tone. I guess he's Jack's dad or something. He flashed a small smile to me.
"Me? Oh, I um.. I don't mind." I said awkwardly. I saw Jack's eyes grow darker. What was that all about? Damn, this boy is confusing.
"Seeya." I smiled to Jack, walking past him. I kept my head down. As I got further down the path, I looked back to Jack, to see the man have his arm rested around his shoulders. Aw, they have such a great bonding. My dad wouldn't put his shoulders around me, especially in public. He says it kinda makes me look like a 'pussy'.
I returned my head back down to the path, taking interest in my shoes. I pulled out my phone with the headphones and plopped the two plastic buds in my ears. Instantly, I went to my 'Music library' and put on 'blink-182, Natives' I love this song. It kind of reminds me of myself. I am a bastard child. You shouldn't even let me go anywhere near your head. I might end up fucking you up. Maybe I'm better off dead. Why not? All I do is make people's lives hell. Urg, who cares? I sighed looking up to see I was almost home. I can't be bothered to go home and face the boredom. Instead, I turned left. This lead me to an abandoned park.
Nobody goes here because one; it's abandoned, two; pieces of the park were shattered, swing-seats weren't even hanging from the pole anymore - they weren't even there. The slide had bird shit all over it. It had also been burnt at the bottom. Even one patch of grass was overgrown over the sea-saw seat. It was a terrible sight to others, but to me, it was beautiful. There was this bench that was placed under an old bus stop shelter. I liked to sit on that bench because it was always my escape. I write songs, smoke, think, and even draw sometimes on that bench. It was heaven to me.
I steadily made my way to the bench. I tried not to get gobbled up by the grass. I plopped myself on the bench, taking in the smell people call 'mouldy and old' Just like their titties. I laughed to myself. It wasn't long 'till I was starring into the long distance. My mind was blank. That was until a certain tall, lanky boy came rushing through my mind. I could imagine his dark brown eyes staring at me while I wasn't doing my work, which happened today. He would blush every time I asked him a question. Wait, why am I even thinking about Jack this way? He's just a new boy who doesn't speak much, so what? Why am I even bothered about him?
'Because he's strange' my voice in my head said. 'And you haven't met anyone as strange as him' It said again. I sighed, bringing my feet up onto the wooden bench, back resting on the brick wall. I brought my knees up to my chest. I put my arms around my knees, cuddling them as I rested my head on them and closed my eyes.
*2 hours later*
"Alex?" I heard the grass being pushed down and some leaves crackling as a voice suddenly appeared. "Alex?" I jumped up, terrified as a voice startled my sleep and scared me to death. As my eyes adjusted and my brain rush disappeared, I focused on the person who shouted my name.
"What the hell, Jack?!" I shouted. "You fucking scared the shit out off me!" I sighed annoyed, as my heart rate went back to normal.
"S-sorry." He mumbled. I looked at him properly this time to see a dark purple ring formed around his eye and a slight cut down his cheek which had a little bit of blood smuged around it.
"What the hell happened to your eye?" I said more kindly-ish. I saw him bite his lip and mumbled something. "Jack, I can't hear you." I sighed. He looked behind him for a minute before laying his eyes on me, chuckling a bit. This time I looked down as I let my feet hit the ground and blushed. Why the fuck am I blushing? What the hell, Alex? You girl.
"I um- I kinda walked into a lamp down there." He laughed nervously and pointed down somewhere where i didn't look. I was still trying to figure out why I was blushing, but I let it slip by me.
I chuckled a bit. "You're a dumbass. How could you not see a god damn lamppost in front of you?" I laughed. He shrugged his shoulders before tugging down his hoddie down a bit more. "Anyway, what made you come to an abandoned park?" I asked, a bit concerned because I only went to this park.
"I um, I don't know." He said panic in his voice.
"Oh, well this is a random question, but would you like to come around mine? I get bored easily there, and you're quite interesting." Oh my god, did I just say that? I don't think he even likes me because I'm such a dick. He shrugged, then nodded. Oh.
